View Full Version : JT the Brick: Pods victory is a "scam"

Can't believe what I'm hearing right now on FOX radio.

JT, a huge Skankee fan is saying "Having an All Star game without Jeter is like having a Grateful Dead concert without Jerry Garcia."

He also noted that the FOX TV promos for the All Star Game (that pinball concept) features Jeter. JT scoffed, "What, are they gonna have Scott Podsednik (saying Pods' name like he's fresh outta the minors) in the pinball machine now."

JT sucks, just wanted to share the lack of respect we're still getting in some circles.

The scam is all the hype ESPN gave Jeter and Matsui

I don't listen to fox radio, but I do know that espn gave alot of air time for those 2 yanks. Harold Reynolds had said that it would be a 2 man race with Matsui cashing in on the japanees vote

I'm glad he was wrong again :D:

HAHA, I wish I was listening. Even better, I wish I was laughing in their face. Defeat has a bitter taste as our Yankee fan compatriots are beginning to find out.

Edit: Or remember, as it wasn't always this way.

Jeter missed the game in 2003 too. I dont see the big deal that he isn't there.

OH GOSH i can't believe how bad they suckered us:

MLB spent a lot of money on advertising for Jeter, and now everyone knows well in advance he won't be in the game rendering that expensive marketing material useless even for the bait and switch

WHAT A SCAM!!!! they sure screwed us.

He's right... but only in the sense that the entire All Popularity Contest Game is a farce and a scam and so is the 32nd player voting. I mean you can vote 25 times? Ludicrous.

HOWEVER, the Sox and their fans played by the rules of the game at this time. If JT has a problem let him talk to Proud To Be Your Bud about one fan, one vote.

Till then shut the hell up.

Actually, you could vote an unlimited amount of times. I voted for an hour and a half consecutively last night while watching Roseanne on Nick at Nite. All together, I put in well over 500 votes.

You don't even need teal. Just look at who've signed so far!

5.Travis Hafner - Please stand in line.

10. Austin Powers - Yeah baby, I found Capn Jetes lost intagibles baby, shagadelic

13.Shea Hillenbrand - (fist-pump)

17.Suzyn Waldman - Derek Jeter is a winner and true class unlike those meanies in Boston. Sure JeteyBear hasnt won anything in five years, but that doesnt prove he's a winner! I reserve the right to take this all back when I become a Red Sox fan again next year.

22.Santa Claus - Derek Jeter is still an all-star in the heart of every girl who blindly believes in media hype, in the soul of every boy who has no range to his left, in the mind of every 37 year old from Queens whose been a diehard fan since 1996. Dont fret, as long as the myth of our Captain remains alive in our hearts, no rational facts or voting process can take his all-star glow away

23.A Rod - Will miss you at the game. JUST KIDDING!!!! AHAHAHAA!!!!

24.Matt Clement - Oh man, wait for the uproar when I replace Kenny Rogers later this week.

37.Mariah Carey - Loser...*tee hee*

36.Alonzo Mourning - they some smart fans, boyyyy *flexes bicep*

59.Craig Grebeck - Don't worry about it, Jetes, with a lot of determination and hard work you may be able to match me some day.

81.Tim McCarver - Its just not fair! *Gently Weeps*

80.Rick Sutcliffe - But its not an All Star Game without Derek Jeter!!!

79.Bud Selig - I think that Jeter should be in the ASG not because he deserves to be, but because it's an embarrasment that 200 million dollars only gets you 3 all stars.

92.Paul O'Neill - If only Capt Underpants Had an Elegant Gait Like Mo Rivera He'd Be In. What a Gyp!

98.You guys are Pathethic - GET OVER IT ALREADY!

Well did JT complain about how Mike Piazza made it over a deserving Ramon Hernandez? Probably not. What about Beltran making it over guys like Andruw Jones and Carlos Lee? THAT IS A SCAM! Hell A-Rod had no business starting last year. Melvin Mora should of. The next time I here ESPN complain about those guys making the All Star team when they shouldn't of will be the first.

I doubt he was complaining too much last year when Thomas and Konerko got snubbed in favor of Matsui becuase the vote of Sox fans was split on the Final Vote ballot.

Is it a "farce" when NY guys vote in undeserving starters on the regular vote? You know - stuffing the ballkot box with as many paper ballots as you can fill in at a game?

Then it's not a farce now. Same rules - most passionate/voluminous fan base gets their guy in. Complaining now just proves that they're :dtroll: .

And how can anyone read Podsednik's letter to fans and not think this guy "gets it"? You think Jeter would even dream of doing something like that if he were voted in?
You deserve it Scotty - you're a great example of how stats don't show the full value of the player in this game.

Why didn't they vote for him?

Because it is the New York Way to wait for a negative situation that they obviously could have prevented (in this case, by voting to match the Sox Army), then sulk and whine about how unfair it is and how everyone is out to get them.

The way I look at this is... we all had to witness deserving entries like Jason Giambi, Tom Gordon, and Javier Vazquez last year.

So I guess since the roster isn't unfairly loaded by that slimeball Torre with 7-8 Yankees again, the Yankee fans don't like the fact they aren't getting special treatment as usual.
