He def. has some nasty stuff. A good acquisition. The Sox took him from that rookie league/A prospect and turned him into a major leaguer (that before was having a great AA season).

Who threw out the first pitch? I just saw the replay but couldn't get a good look at who it was.

It was fun to bust out the brooms, hopefully the Twins see them many times as we continue to beat them.

Frank Thomas hit another 3-run bomb today that virtually sealed the Sox victory. I love home run hitters who hit home runs at the rate Frank's hitting them. Joe Crede's rate, no.

It's about time the offense scored some runs for Jose Contreras.

Good games by All-Star Scott Podsednik, Pablo Ozuna (he knows how to use his speed), Tadahito Iguchi, and Frank Thomas.

Nice job by Jermaine Dye at first base. Farmer said he'd been lobbying Ozzie to put him at first for a game to give Paulie a rest. Way to take one for the team Dye.

We're winning the World Series.

Jermaine Dye looked good at 1B. With Carl in RF, Dye at 1B and Frank at DH, this may just be our best lineup.

Ozuna had a good game too, except for that base running error. I guess when you're biggest asset is speed and you don't get much of a chance to start, you tend to try to impress with your speed too much. No harm done and he learned from his mistake.

Contreras had a good game and Jenks looks like he could be special.

Congratulations to Scott! Sox fans came through! Take that, NY.

One of the better developments for the ALC race has to be the sudden mediocrity of Santana and the overall collapse of the middle relief corps(except for Crain) of the Twins. I would never write these b*******s off but this can't be good for them. It's much more serious than our 5th starter problems.

it looked like some of those pitches on the first batter he faced could have easily been called strikes. He could have easily gotten flustered and lost his composure but he stayed focused. Someone else mentioned that ESPN article on him awhile back. I'd like to read that again sometime.

How about Jermaine Dye at 1b! Not bad for a fill in. That 3-6-3 that would have been turned if not for Uribe losing the ball never would have been caught by Konerko. I don't think he has the height or hopps .:D:

We know that Frank would rather hit .350 , 100 walks , and have 30 hr's then hit for power with a lower average. The crazy part about this is I can see Frank is going for Power now obviously because he can't run the bases so he just hits the majority over the wall! I wonder where frank would be in the HR race if he didn't care about ob%? I have a hard time beliveing he just found a power stroke like this at 36. He just turned it on.

Jenks is a little wild, but what an exciting closer he could be throwing 99 consistantly. I can't remember a Sox pitcher that threw that hard off hand beside Colon. :bandance:

Hypothetically speaking, if Frank Thomas went at the same rate for a full season with his home runs and RBIs (we'll call it 550 ABs), he would have 84 HR and 160 RBI. Ha Ha Ha. I know that it's a little ridiculous to make that comparison, but i found it amusing.

Great game, great day, great year. This team is electric, Big Frank is amazing, congrats to Pods, way to go Contreras on not pitching terrible, and JD was a stud at 1B.
On Thomas: If pitchers pitch to him, he's blasting the outside pitch to center, and the inside pitch at the pole. If its been center-cut...well it has no chance. He has been a HUGE addition to the team after the time off.

'Cause that's the kind of mind I'm in

And if you touch me you'll get shocked!
You've got the boomin' system but it's blasting out doo-doo

As to somebody's question, it was "Double Duty" who threw out the first pitch tonight, he is 103 and he looks great, talk about being the man. Secondly, I got to meet Da Mare at the game tonight, he seemed jacked up about getting into the Cell to watch the Sox. Frank is just crushing the ball, that last out he recorded seemed like it was leaving. Congrats to Pods and the Sox Army for beating the Evil Empire and last but not least, how awesome was it watching that fatbody throw close to 100.

I was at the game tonight, my seventh of the season. It was a lot of fun! It was great to see JC pitch well.

Jenks was awesome. I'm not on his bandwagon yet. I'd like to see a few more outings, but he looked good out there.

:supernana: to Big Frank. I called his home run before he hit it. He came up to bat and all of the sudden I just knew he was going to hit it out and waaay out and he did!

It was so exciting when it was announced Scotty made the All Star Team. It was so loud and everyone was really happy. I have never felt that proud of the Sox Army before.

Overall, 2005 just has a special feeling. Whether it's unimportant things like getting our guys into the All Star Game or coming from behind to win a game you just feel like anything can happen. From 2001-2004 my feeling whenever something positive had a chance of happening for the Sox I always assumed is probably wouldn't and usually I was right. This year, however, I feel like nothing can go wrong. Send us another challenge, we're ready for it. :)

Everett is a PROfessional hitter. I watch that 1959 throwback Dodgers (AJ HR) game on Tivo anytime I have a bad day at work and to watch him battle for that 9th inning single ... awesome .. unfazed at being doing 0-2.

Having him off the bench in the playoffs is going to be invaluable. Knock, knock.

Great game, got a chance to go tonight. Dye seemed pretty steady at 1st, I was waiting for a Timo-esque error at 1st base. Great performance, great standing O for Pods when they made the announcement. The place blew up when Frank hit that HR, I couldn't believe how far he hit that. I was 16th row Bleachers a section over, and it had to be 25-30 rows back.

I am intrigued with Jenks. He was a little wild, and it looked like the batters swung at some junk. Stuff that was made contact with flewwww foul. He's a million times better than Walker for sure. I hope he has some control over his curveball, and can spot his fastball consistantly. If so, great pitcher.

Well, we busted the software trying to keep up with the Sox. I'm hoping there isn't enough space in the bank (sig images and post images) to hold the number of banana's required...

GREAT game! I arrived out here in Utah (my new home) yesterday and watched the game with my son. It was fantastic!! Nice to see Contreras pitch decent. Seeing that Pods made the All Star team was icing on the cake. And how cool was Jenks?! Jeez!!
