Below are current stats for two baseball players and the numbers are almost exactly the same. One got waived Saturday and the other is still playing. Any guess who each player is?

PLAYER 1 / PLAYER 2
AB-273 / 233
HR-7 / 9
RBI-34 / 26
BB-24 / 23
K-52 / 47
OBP-.299 / .300
AVE-.231 / .225

Any guesses?

Player 1 is Brett Boone.
Player 2 is Sammy Sosa.

Come on, Sosa isn't going to get waived.

Sammy Sosa is most definitely NOT batting .277 right now. It's .227.

The orioles really aren't paying much of his salary so it doesn't hurt them much to keep him around or release him. He'll probably stick around though, but you might see more starts by Gibbons and Bigbie in the OF.
