Wow how things can change in just a few short days. Not that anyone who understands big picture thinking was concerned after the two losses to the flubbies last weekend, but there was a small but vocal minority who were very upset because (horrors) they would have to listen to the rants of a few confused fans of the lovable losers from up on the north side.

Anyone still freaking out? Anyone still need to get burped? Anyone feel the need to look up at the clear blue sky with the soft white clouds and scream "TORNADO! RUNNNNNNNNNN!"

A three game road sweep of a divisional rival is so much bigger than any pair of losses to any NL team that it isn't even worth the time to have the discussion, but I really wanted to point out the huge way the Sox came back after leaving their fans drifting in the wind his past weekend and forcing us to have to listen to the rants and whines of the fans of a team barely over .500...

Hey darkclouds... SCOREBOARD!

A little perspective is right. Some people have none. You know what two poorly played games means in a baseball season? It means you're watching baseball!

I never had a doubt in my mind that this team wouldn't bounce right back into their glorious season and win, just like they have every other time they've "scared" us with subpar play for a game or two.

:supernana: :supernana: :supernana: :supernana: :supernana: :bandance:That can't be right. I heard a Cubs fan on MJH say that the Sox were playing over their heads and that the Cubs "spanking" of the Sox (honest, that's the word he used) would send them back to normal. And the Cubs would use it as a springboard to overtake the Cardinals.

And if the Sox win 2 of 3 in Oakland they are 30 games over. THAT'S INSANE! Screw the Cubs...and how do they like seeing more CLee?

Very well put. However, since I flew out from NJ to see the Saturday and Sunday games, I remain a bit "annoyed" (not quite teal, but you get the idea). But I'll see the Sox in Baltimore at the end of July, so I've got another chance to witness a winner! :gulp:

Well said, voodooed one!

I don't even bother coming here after our little 2-game losing streaks. Not worth the elevated blood pressure.

Every team has their "World Series" every season.

For the Flubs, it just happened to be in our house last weekend. It sucked. The season goes marching on...

We have not had our "World Series" yet. I'm thinking it will likely be late October before we do.

Given those two scenarios, I'll take the latter every flinkin' time. Even if it means I have to put up with a little lovable loser chest-pounding.

It is a small price to pay for a World Champion

This season has been way to much fun.

I thought my neighbor was gonna call the cops because of all that screaming last night.

Young guys: Honestly baseball is not for the instant gratification crowd. It is an a-l-l s-e-a-s-o-n game. Lots of games. You hope to have way more ups than downs.

VC's post is so right in so many ways. Hopefully the chicken littles will finally realize the sheer size of a major league baseball season. I doubt it.

The chief was just wicked today. And I want Crede to be more greedy.

The thing about this team is that they are all about the "big picture." Every single player is about the big picture. When asked are you guys good, Ozzie replies we aren't good, we are just good enough to win ballgames. It does not get better or bigger picture then that.

This team knows how to win, and knows how to act classy about it. I never see or feel that any player is performing for themselves. I love watching this team, and reading everything about this team. Regardless if it is skeptical talk or praising talk.

Sox Pride, is strong in my heart and many fellow WSI'ers.

I'm still scared of whatever creepy anti-Sox vibe floats in the Oakland air. IF we win this series I will be completely ready to forget all about Mark (&#$(*&@ Prior and the rest of the Cardinal-Butt-Sniffin Cubbies.

Oh, and Milwaukee's going to take the wild card. Is it me, or is that team really fun to watch? Between El Caballo, Brady Clark, Bill Hall, the Rookies, Sheets, a decent rotation and 'pen behind him... Yost and Mike Maddux's porno 'stache... oh and those 19 games against the Cubs, well, I think I know who my NL team is for the year. And the Cards, of course.

Anyways, that was a great sweep. It's really exciting to see the Tigers-Indians race heat up for the AL Central Salary-Dumping Champion at Trade Deadline Title. Dmitri Young, you CALLED it dude! Way to go.

53-24. What a season so far!

I said before the cubs series if we were to go .500 over the next 6 games, i'd rather the three losses be to the cubs and the three wins be to the tigers, instead of the other way around. It almost happened like that... and while the cubs losses made me sick, it was definitely more important to beat the tiggies than the flubs.

I wish some people would turn off the hatred for a second, and focus on the sox and what they need to do. At least ozzie and the team understands it, even if some fans don't. And that's all that matters.

Those two losses to the Cubs were the only Sox losses in the last 13 games. The only people who should be upset about that are the ones who unwisely abused Cubs fans after the Sox took two of three in Wrigley.

I don't think that there is anything wrong in celebrating a pennant because of past history of teams as good as we are at this point in the season. However, anyone who is talking about October should have their head examined. The postseason is a different season all together. I always expect the SOX to take the central and anything less is a disappointment. Anything more than a first round win is icing on the cake that is this great season.

Moderation's ass!

Moderation was for 1951 and 1959 and 1983 and 1993 and 1994 and 2000.

I gave you the reason why I responded to Miker's post that you said had no relevence because no one was raising any pennants. How does that make me a dark cloud?

What is the opposite of a dark cloud? A cub fan? I wouldn't call you an always optomistic cub fan because I don't want to get banned but if you agree with So.ILSoxFan's post that we will be celebrating a world series win because of our record right now then I don't think I have to.

Thinking that the world series is all ready won is not perspective. If you would have read my posts than you can clearly see that I am not one that gets excited over a loss. In fact, I think I held it together pretty well loosing 2 of 3 to my least favorite team.
