I was reading the latest issue of Red Sox mailbag, seeing the buzz about Keith Foulke (my Peoria Pumpkins' closer), when I came across this gem,
What exactly is WHIP? Should it be low or high? -- Paul D., Boston
WHIP is simply the number of walks and hits a pitcher allows per inning. And, the lower the better.
