This is not a trade Joe Crede thread, but Cirillo could be a temporary solution to the offensive production of our 3B. I was a fan of Cirillo when I was following the Brewers in the late 90s. He was a .300+ hitter for the Brewers and a good player.

He was traded to Colorado in 2000 and hit .300+ in 2000 and 2001. His average dropped to .249 in 2002 when he was traded to Seattle, .205 in 2003 when he was injured and .213 last year in another injury plagued season with San Diego. Milwaukee signed him to a minimum contract this year ($360,000) and he is hitting .280 in 60 games.

In addition to playing 1,326 games at 3B he has played 34 at 1B, 32 at 2B, 2 at SS, and one LF. His career fielding % at 3B is .967- by comparison Crede is .964. Very similar.

He is 35 so he would only be a solution until Josh Fields is ready. however he was just put on the DL This weekend, but was hitting .310 in the 10 games prior.

Why did he swing at it in the first place? He has, without a doubt, the worst swing I have ever seen. The step across and golf shot swing. That ball was in the dirt and he had the balls to fight with the umpire that he got a piece.

It is like playing coed slow pitch freaking softball when you play 10 and 9 show up so you have to take an automatic out. It is a hopeless situation and I have lost all faith in the LAMB.

Aside from the fact that he's on the DL, he, like randa, needs a walker and cane to move.

Just what we need, another *Joe Crede Sucks* thread.

I don't know because he is NEVER on! Furthermore 35K to 18 BB is ridiculous. He walks every fourth game at this pace!

JR ought to bring in Wriniak or a disciple (Robin?) to work with him.

these Crede sucks threds are getting beyond tiring. I wish these threads could go the way of attendance and political threads.

I always liked Cirillo too but you have to wonder about a guy who only seems to play well in a Milwaukee uniform. The fact that his arm was broken in minnesota puts a damper on this as well. As a backup to crede I'd like him, not so much as an everyday starter

Beat me to it. He's out at least a month.

This is not a trade Joe Crede thread

Oh, you had me for, like, 1/2 a second there, but now I realize that this is a "trade Joe Crede" thread. And for Jeff Cirillo! Teriffic. Milwaukee would piss themselves with laughter and glee.

As others have said, these trade/replace Crede threads are ridiculous unless there's an actual thought about getting someone who is a real upgrade. However, they do make for good material in the chat when something goes wrong.

It's funny how the posters wanting to trade Crede go and suggest a guy on the DL.

Way to be on top of the game of baseball!

F--k no!

I saw that joker play in Seattle. It's pretty bad when the fans start pining for David Bell at third. I tried to start a curse of David Bell going in 2002, but it never stuck.

This thread makes White Sox Josh's obsession with Joe Randa look acceptable.
