"The start of the game was delayed due to an industrial plant fire. Motorists slowed to look at the flames delaying entry into the ballpark."

Lots of abandoned factories to catch on fire in St Louis.

They were covering the fire on the news (assuming it's the same fire, of course). I believe it was in South St Louis. From what I was seeing, it's actually kinda scary.

From CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/06/24/stlouis.fire/index.html)

I was 10 blocks from it at the carquest distribution warehouse, it was a gas compression factory that compresses oxygen and nitrogen into containers for like welding and such. No news as to why it exploded, they evacuated 5 blocks due to flying debris, sadly we were still stuck there working.

It was like 15 blocks from the savvis centre(believe thats where the rams play, i dont try to memorize what is in st louis but it was near the rams stadium)

The good news, however, was that no one was hurt.

Saavis is where the NHL's Blues and SLU hoops play. The Edward Jones' Dome (home of the 2004 Final Four) is where the Rams play. It's south of the main downtown area. Busch Stadium is a few blocks from Saavis in the heart of downtown.

Does downtown St. Louis still clear out like a plane losing cabin pressure after the Cards game ends?
