Today, when the Sox went up 12-1 off the bat of Crede, the Cub fan sitting next to me started chanting "FIRE DUSTY!!!!! FIRE DUSTY!!!"

There was also another Cub fan a few rows back of me (I was in Section 535) who screamed at the top of his lungs after the Cubs brought the score to within 12-2 "The Sox STILL suck!" I turned around and screamed back "Scoreboard! And, for the record, we have 50 wins now!"

Cub fans overall were very quiet tho, and rightfully so! Way to beat them down, Sox!

How were your experiences at the game today?

Did you snare it in the air, or did you come up with it after a scrum?

i got it after scrum because it hit my hands and fell under my seat.

How were your experiences at the game today?

My experience watching it over the internet at work (for some magical reason MLB failed to black it out for the area) was insane jealousy of you and the cousins I gave my tickets to. Although one of them was rooting for the Cubs. He's a smart kid though, I'm sure he left a Sox fan.

I was in 102 and some clown started bouncing a beach ball around. Sure enough it eventually bounced my way and landed in my lap so I punctured it with my car key. A bunch of idiots started yelling at me, but that's just too bad for them. It's a baseball game, not a beach party.

White Sox management agrees:

http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/cws/ballpark/cws_ballpark_guide_dir.jsp#BeachBalls

Beach Balls
For the safety of all guests, players and employees, beach balls are not permitted inside the ballpark. Guests who bring in or inflate a beach ball during a game will be subject to ejection from U.S. Cellular Field. Please do not participate in hitting or chasing after a beach ball as is may disturb or injure another guest.

I was in the right field lower deck reserved area where right near me sat Harry Teinowitz. He was cheering for the Cubs wearing a retro Cub road jersey. Needless to say, he was quiet most of the time.As for the fans in general, I think they were pretty well behaved on both sides. I think there was some sort of skirmish in the right field upper deck, but I saw nothing in the lower deck.

A fight did break out in 101 near the concourse in the 8th inning, but security quickly broke it up before it could escalate.

It was a pretty well behaved crowd today. I think Sox fans outnumbered Cubs about 4-1 and the Cub fans were pretty quiet considering how the season is going and how the game went. However, did anyone see what happened outside gate 3 right before gametime? There was a guy on the sidewalk unconscious with blood gushing out of his head. It looked really bad.

Let me give a you a White Sox money saving tip on bottled water next time its hot. I usually buy one bottle (or two if I'm with someone) and then bring it up to the concourse between innings and refill it at the drinking fountain. I know it isn't aquafina but it does the job and is much cheaper than spending $3 per bottle.

One thing that stood out when i was at the game today was when Duboise (sp?) hit the homer in the 8th, random cubs fans here and there gave a huge sarcastic explosion of cheers, because well... they know their team sucked today.

*oh! and another funny thing was today where we sat in sect. 134, a guy wearing an expos hat kept on standing up, and a drunk guy kept screaming "expossss sit downnnn!" and the guy responded with "rocky biddle signed this hat" it brought back all these pointless memories of the sometimes good outings that sideburned guy used to give us.

There was a fight up in 508 towards the end of the game. It was funny because everyones watching it instead of the game, and the ushers are just watching it as well and not doing anything about it. Finally some people ran down themselves to find security...it was definately interesting and the Cubs guy was escorted off...haha.

I didnt see too many fights, except for one or two. Overall, the experience was great. A loud crowd, a Sox pounding on the Cubs. I made a Cubs "L" flag for the game today, hoping and praying that I could use it at the end of the game, and luckily I was able to use it. I'm a bit superstitious, so I didn't whip it out until that last half of an inning.

Now, let's hope for two more White Sox winners...

The pride crew almost nailed me in the face with a T-shirt a few weeks back. I never stand up for that crap, but the people all around me were standing. I am in the first row of the bleachers, so there is nobody in front of me. One of the girls was running by and hurled a shirt right at me. I was looking down at my scorebook, but I looked up just in time and was able to get my hand up and deflect it.

The gates open 1.5 hours before the game. At that time you can catch the visiting team in bp. The Sox are done by then.

I'm glad you reminded me of that. You are right, what a slap in the face to our players. I even kind of hate that they feel the need to tell us to stand up for the player intros. We are not drunk, stupid Cubs fans. We know when to stand thank you very much.

The air-condition was blasting in my house and it felt very comfortable. Three other friends were in the seats next to me taking in a White Sox Winner. Two were Scrubbie fans though, but that made it that much more enjoyable to rip into them.

The funniest thing I saw in the stands today happened about an hour before the game. Some autograph-seeking Cub fans confused Man Soo Lee for Derrek Lee.

I was standing on the concourse by 3B next to the 2 Cub fans and one of them saw the back of Man Soo's jersey & immediately assumed that it was Derrek Lee. He told his buddy that Derrek Lee was signing autographs and both sprinted down the aisle. Both returned a minute later with dejected looks on their faces.

I guess the 2 Cub fans didn't know that the Cubs wear blue uniforms, not black ones like Man Soo Lee's was, that Derrek Lee is about a foot taller than Man Soo Lee, and that Cubs players hang out around their dugout on the 1B-side, not the Sox dugout on the 3B-side like Man Soo was.

As for the game, I was sitting in the lower level by 3B. I had a bunch of Cub fans behind me, and they didn't stop talking for the entire game. I was reminded again of the Cub fans sitting behind me when the ad screen on the 2nd level had an ad for Officemax that said, "Sitting next to a Cub fan? We sell duct tape."

They spent almost the entire game talking about how much they hated Corey Patterson because he wasn't a true leadoff man, yet in the same breath they said that Ozzie Guillen was stupid for having Podsednik bat leadoff because Podsednik has no home runs.

Most of the Cub fans sitting around me left right after the 7th inning stretch. The Sox fans in the area all heckled them on the way out.

I was up In section 520 (thank god for the shade up there today !!) and sitting right behind myself and my family were a couple groups of scrub fans. One group way at the top made a little noise in the beginning of the game but eventually shut up as the butt kicking ensued, but there was another group of about 8-10 yip - yappy dumbass women scrub fans! They drove me nuts throughout the whole game. After the first couple Innings you knew they were not In attendance to see a ballgame, they were there just becuase it was the COOL place to be. I mean they would not shut the hell up, all they did was cheer and clap when Derek Lee came up to bat ( I wonder If they even know what position he played) and then go back to their gossip about other women at their place of employment, spraying their selves with their damn water bottles which continously would overspray onto myself and the other Sox fans a row In front of me. You think they would have stopped it after the first batch of dirty looks they got from the Sox fans, but NO these dumbass chicks kept spraying away. If these women were hot babes that would be one thing, but these were your everyday middle aged rundown housewives... I know that all of us Sox fans drove them nuts though with all of our constant standing up run afetr run cheering for our team, so that made it easier to deal with their crap. After the game I did see another scrubs fan with a couple buddies buy 3 beers off a Sox fan while walking through the parking lot to get to their car, and afterwards the jagoff kept going on and on quite loudly about how only a Sox fan would charge someone for a beer? Of course you freaking Idiot, your a dumb ass scrub fan and I hope he totally ripped you off for that beer! I would have...Also i noticed going down the ramp that some dumbass scrub fan ( I am assuming) pulled off the "R" from the "Win or die trying" sign... I wish those asswipes would just stay at the urinal! All and all we had a good time especially with the outcome of the game. This was my first crosstown game and I must say I probably would not attend another becuase I can't stand scrub fans! I mean seriously, these people make my skin crawl. How were your experiences at the game today? What is funny tho is they dont have no other excuse. They feel as its a guarantee and there more focused on attendance and fans then there own team. I get tired of it cuz really no matter what as sox fans we arent gonna see better. What we need to do as sox fans is continue are tradition. Dont throw baseballs back dont throw trash on to the field and be there to watch the game. Im surprised the cubs fan had something to say and was payin attention to the game.. The hell with them cubs fans. Parties and excuses are all they have left. Just take to steps back put up the chokin sign and enjoy the ride. Cuz no matter what dude we are gonna be sox fans regardless cuz we love are team and we love baseball. Cubs fans love partys and ratings.

soxfanforlife28 you're aweome! I'll tell you anyone who was out there yesterday saw not only two teams going in different directions, but two distinct groups of fans. One group worries more about being seen...the other just wants to see good baseball. Here's the best part, for many years the Cubs were broadcast solely on WGN before it went to superstation status. The Sox were on UHF (WFLD-32, and WSNS-44) before the advent of cable stations. Slowly the TV landscape changed.....and now here we are going back to yesterday where on WGN..."America's #1 sports station"...all the world got to see the beloved Cubbies get their heads handed to them courtesy of the Chicago White Sox.....the network that gave the Cubs so much exposure showed them getting taken to the woodshed! :yup: .....

It was hot out there. I was down near the right field corner....Burnitz is a character:kukoo: .....most of the Cubs fans were pretty quite...what could they say? The only thing I can say about the game is that if I was that pitcher Wellenmeyer, I would've went in the dugout and kicked Johnnie B. Baker in his ass...the guy is getting smoked and Dummy leaves him in to get cooked....shows how bad Baker is.

I like the matchup taday with Contreras and Maddux. I'd like to see seven quality innings out of Contreras. The boys need to keep piling on the runs.

GO SOX!:gulp: :contreras: <------needs to give us some quality innings.

Early in the game, 2nd inning or so, Burnitz went back on a fly ball & made the catch. The camera then showed him glaring into the RF stands, before throwing the ball into the infield. The camera did a cut away shot & quickly went back to Burnitz who was still glaring into the stands, before returning to the action...

I wonder what was said?

The camera did a cut away shot & quickly went back to Burnitz who was still glaring into the stands, before returning to the action...

I wonder what was said?

LOL...."You SUCK Burnitz!! And so do the Cubs!! HAHAHA!!" :bandance:

I it is amazing that people would spend that kinda money to go to a game, yet are only entertained if they throw a stupid beach ball around. I went to a Dodger game in LA this year and beach ballsere all over the place, really detracted from the exp at the game

I hate the Chevy Pride Crew.

I'm waiting for one of the truck drivers to have a brain fart and crash his truck into the other truck after their little production is over and they're backing up into the area under the batters eye.

Can you get in for Battign Practice? I know the gates open two hours before, but can you? No one has answered that question for me, could you shed some light?

If you get in right when the gates open, the opposing team is just about finishing up with their bp. Last July, I caught a home run ball hit by a Twins player.

Gee, maybe I should have thrown it back.

IIRC, Gates open 2 hours before gametime for this series in particular.

On a side note, you can tell you are at the Sox/Cubs series when you hear the Cub fans say behind you, "Oh my God! Derrek Lee is hitting .395?! I didn't know it was that high." Yea, between the ESPN specials and constant Triple Crown coverage in June, I had no idea either.

After Pods got picked off in the 1st inning yesterday during Iguchi's AB, some girl sitting behind us in Cubs gear yelled: "Hit into a double!" I don't know what she meant by that, but I sure got a good laugh out of it!

If you can dodge a t-shirt in the first row, you can dodge a ball! A little "Dodge Ball " humor!
