Anyone catch Baker in the postgame on Comcast? He says they had a hard time keeping Takatsu off the bases.

Oh no wonder Shingo was struggling. He and Iguchi must of switched bodies and Iguchi was playing in Shingo's body and Shingo was playing in Iguchi's body. Kinda of like Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

They got mixed up during the out-of-body experience.

I'm sure he meant to name one of our other fine players, like Chad Hermanson, Freddy Guzman, or Pat Iguchi.

No, he knows that Pat Iguchi is in the Karate Kid.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was deliberate. He's pulled this passive/aggressive crap in the media before.

When Boston was in town two weeks ago, Baker made several comments about "how interesting it was to see Wrigley Field partially filled with fans of another team" (guess he was napping when his team lost 2 of 3 to the "other" Chicago ballclub, whose fans certainly made their presence felt, IIRC).

He also made a point of continually referring to Boston as "the Sox" and the matchup as "Sox/Cubs." In this town, only one team goes by that name. What a tool.

That's exactly what I picture him saying.

"Come on man...I can't keep those guys straight. Those cats got too many letters and vowels, and consonants and all that, in their names. Besides, my mother always told me those guys do better in the heat, because look at how tough those guys fought in WW II and Vietnam and stuff. I mean, am I right ? I'm not makin' this stuff up, I'm just stating the facts."
