Ball was flying tonight, nice to see the offense take advantage of opportunities, and get Garland another W.

I was curious about something tonight.
Why isnt the double play ball that Crede dropped an error? because he got an out? Just dont like that Jon gave up 6 ER even though it seems like he should have been out of that inning with only have given up the one run. Not that I am in anyway happy with his performance tonight..but yea.

Yeah..the Yankees walkoff combined with the absolutely TERRIBLE CALL on the double play in the bottom of the ninth in that game provide a small blemish to an otherwise perfect day of baseball.

Didn't catch that part of the game (I got back from dinner just as the big inning was getting started  ), but I don't think you can ever assume the DP, hence no E5. Of course, this is a complete guess since I didn't see that part of the game, so I'm sure someone will be around to correct my stupidity before too long.

By the way, with a Sox win, a Twins loss, and a Cubs loss, I believe that's a trifecta. Just another wonderful day to be a Sox fan...

At this pace, yes!

:supernana:

At this pace if he got 300 at bats he'd be at about 57 HRs :o:

We all know that's not happening because pitchers would just start walking him before they'd allow him to hit HRs at a faster pace than '01 Bonds.

But he looks as dangerous at the plate right now as Barry Bonds at any point between 2001 and 2004, and that's quite a scary thought. A scary good thought :D:

Farmio and Rooney definitely made it sound like Crede blew a sure double play, and Paulie blew a sure out at the plate by dropping the ball. If this is true, Garland could very well have held the D-backs to two runs. Anyway, great comeback. I hope they build on it!!!

Again, we were up by 6. Who would you have rather seen instead of Timo? Willie got an PA yesterday and Widger caught the night before. And CC will always get his turns at the plate. And we all know how Ozzie likes to put Timo in the game in these sorts of situations.

I'm not. I feel that PK is the cornerstone to this team. He may not be a gold-glover (although there are MUCH worse 1B's out there) and he certainly won't beat anyone besides B. Molina in a footrace, but he brings a certain swagger to this team that the Sox need to succeed.

Ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly.....but it's a win. I'll gladly take it.

Two comments:

1. Frank can't possibly continue at the home run per at bat pace he's now at, BUT if he can just stop having those damn leg cramps and see a lot of action, he can hit 20-25 in half a season. That's damn impressive.

2. Regarding the pitching staff. The past three games may have been a fluke but it'll be interesting to see what happens home run wise regarding the opposition. The weather is finally turning and balls may be starting to fly out again. We'll see. One year's data, in my opinion, was not enough to classify Comiskey Park as Coors Field West but this will bear watching.

Enjoy the day off, go get em' Friday.

Awesome, fun time. Sat row BB, section 114, which was fun. Imagine how nuts the place would've gotten if Frank hit that 2nd HR? Still, it was rockin'! Notice how the weather was nasty, yet was fine when the Sox made their comeback.

Think I'll try to make it to one of the Dodgers games. Can't decide which of the three.

What was even better about this crowd tonight was the fact that EVERYBODY acknowledged Rowand's catch with a standing ovation....And then again, after the huge 6th inning was OVER, another standing ovation when the guys came back out of the dugout to play defense

Again, unbelievable game to be at.....Hopefully we can get back to the good old 'winning 2 of 3' ways this weekend

I'm not. I feel that PK is the cornerstone to this team. He may not be a gold-glover (although there are MUCH worse 1B's out there) and he certainly won't beat anyone besides B. Molina in a footrace, but he brings a certain swagger to this team that the Sox need to succeed.

PK's average is back up to .251. I'm still saying .270 by the All-Star break. He is on pace for 42 HRs and 112 RBIs. But remember he is not as productive as most of the other first basemen around the league.

Not surprisingly, the other hitters in the middle of the order have started to pick it up now that Frank is back. Just his presence makes a difference, and everyone realizes they have to produce in order to keep their place in the lineup from this point forward.

The real question is: Can Frank hit 25-30 HRs in 3/5 of a season?
Get real. No. More like 45.

Who said we didn't have the offense to come back from 5-run deficits?

Nice game boys - that's a comeback.

Frank's HR turned the game around and surely grabbed the momentum back to end that "mini skid." His affect on the lineup is nothing short of amazing.

I just got back to the game too. My cousin scored seats in section 125 from his work. We sat 4 rows behind Bill Wennington. Glad I didn't get stuck sitting right behind him. :D:

It's good that you guys didn't see me when Arizona put that 5 spot on the board because Crede failed to turn the inning-ending double play. But it was all worth it to see the comeback. Thanks Predator, er, Royce.

After Royce made those two errors (one official) in the inning, I told myself that if the Sox come back to win, the WSI *official* postgame thread will refer to Royce. I was right. :D:

How long did that 10-run inning last? 25 minutes? Good night to be at Comiskey.

You can turn inning ending double plays with 0 outs? That's awesome. I think it gives the Sox an unfair advantage though.

Once again, no respect from ESPN. Its 10:24:angry: and they finally get to the Sox highlights.....they even had the Cubs on before.......But Baseball Tonight (once the game before it was over) had the Sox on right at the start. And for those of you who have been on Kruk all year, he said "this is what good teams do. The Diamondbacks want to be a good team, but the White Sox are."

Hey, putting a good Cubs butt-kicking on early isn't all bad.

Yeah, it's nice to see the Trade Konerko/Dye enthusiasts are very very quiet. (Though I know there will be a few posts bringing up his error tonight that cost us the game.)

I absolutely lost it.

Sounds like a fine woman you got there, Jurr.

Hey...she's a gorgeous Sox fan from Pittsburgh, where the vocabulary always resembles that of a sailor. What can I say?

At least she's a huge sports fan. Most girlfriends wouldn't notice a guy we had 2 years ago.

The White Sox sent 13 hitters to the plate in the inning, their biggest since April 18, 2000, when they scored 11 runs against Seattle.

i was there for that game. sooooooooo awesome. wish i had been there last nite. but i'll be there tomorrow for them to score 10 runs in every inning hopefully.:supernana:

I didn't get to watch the game last night (MLB-TV locked me out for "logging in too many times"), so I caught it on Gameday. I did watch the sixth inning on archive this morning.
The Sox did an unbelievable job in the 6th to save Garland from his "big inning" and secure his win #11.
However, given all of the Sox who had a hot night, there was one who just can't be overlooked:

:buddylee

Great job, Choice!

my personal favorite call of the game was when tadahito stretched his double into a triple:

"tadahito was FLYIN'"

Personally I thought it was not necesarry. We were allready up and there were two outs so a sac fly wouldn't have been in order. I was waiting for him to get injured or something. Good hustle nontheless.

I thought there was already one out, but I'll take your word for it. Either way, Crede's unofficial defensive error allowed a extra runner on base and more runs to score in the inning.

As the game ended, someone over the Comiskey PA system invited fans to stay in their seats to watch Ozzie's postgame comments on the Jumbotron. I've never heard this before, and didn't stick around to see it. Has anyone else sat at Comiskey and watched the postgame comments on the Jumbrotron?

This is a neat new feature and a good way to help traffic congestion.

I know that they did that last year.
