I know many many people don't like Peter G over on the ESPN (including myself,) but at least he's alwayas willing to give me a new trade possibility to ponder.

Tonight on BBTN, they were discussing the Sox's supposedly weak bench. (Kruk on Widger: He can only play catcher.)

Anyway, Peter talked up the White Sox possibly acquiring Julio Lugo from TB. And I have to say that it makes sense. He can play 3B, SS and 2B and would be a statistical upgrade over both Crede and Uribe if he ever needed to start.

I don't need a Eric Chavez at the deadline. He's too expensive and you never know if he was on the roids. But I think it would be great if KW went out and got people rumored at various points like Joe Randa, Pedro Feliz and Lugo to replace Crede, Timo and Willie. Our lineup flexibility and on-base percentages would increase a lot.

The debate over chemistry is a valid one, but I want Ozzie to have all the weapons he needs in October.

Didn't Julio Lugo get dumped by Houston after he allegedly did something not very nice to his better half? If we acquired him, the mediot vultures would be all over us like they were when we signed Wil Cordero.

Julio Lugo can beat you in a lot of ways.

On a more serious note, I wouldn't mind making a run at Desi Relaford of the Rockies. He is playing well both offensively and defensively and he is not a future starter on this Rockie team.

Kruk must have missed the game where Widger played 3B and 1B.

Julio Lugo ? No thanks. One wife beater just left town, we don't need one coming to our team. If someone else wants a guy who slams his wife's face into the hood of a car, have at it.

:cower:

Couldn't you get a more normal looking picture to photoshop? Randa looks awful in that picture.

Well Randa won't be able to wear 16 because it is retired. So is 19 (he wore it in Detroit.) I picked out #24 since he will be replacing The Lamb(Joe Crede).

Good one. :D: Well, he can beat a woman in a lot of different ways.

Finally, Peter Gammons gets it right. They wouldn't have to give up a Brandon McCarthy to get Lugo, and he can play 2B/SS to spell Iguchi and Uribe. He has a great glove, and occasionally can swing the bat. I would love to see him wearing a Sox uniform later in the year.

I like Pablo and Willie and would like to keep them both. Lugo would be a good addition, however, especially in Timo's roster spot.

BTW, wasn't Lugo cleared of all the allegations against him?

evidentally, he hasn't seen Widger's offensive numbers either. Kruk's a moron.

His ex-wife admitted she made up the the story and all charges were dropped.
By the time she admitted it Houston had already released him.

Plus, they showed the bench as consisting of Widger, Harris, Ozuna, and Perez and said that the bench "lacked pop." They neglected to mention that most of the time, either Everett or Thomas will be on the bench as well.

I would put money that if we picked up Joe Randa he would perform horribly for us. He is not that much better than Crede and is not worth trading for.

I have to say, I'm against any trade that brings MORE Kansas City Royals to this team unless it is Tony Graffanino's triumphant return.

.287 with 8 HR 35 RBI.

That's cute, he was hitting .211 on may 27th. 17RBI 6HR 5 doubles .42 avg. hike in the past 15 days.

He's better than anyone else in this thread, and Joe pretty much is too.
