View Full Version : Do you think the WS will win 60 games by the All Star break?

I think they’ll play 24 more games by the AS break. And if they keep winning 2 out of 3 till then that would be 18-6, which would make them 60-28. Is that possible? Amazing, isn’t it? That we could talk like this about this team.

Heck, or better.

We essentially have it pretty easy until the AS break.

We have the Flubs, but no one knows if they're really as good as they have been in the past few weeks. And we're at home.

We have LAD at home, who knows... that's the only one where I could see us going 1-2.

ARI is cold lately. KC, DET, OAK, TB.... we gotta be able to average 2-out-of-3 in these series....

My gut tells me that we have another 8 or 9 game streak coming in there somewhere...

2 out of 3 would make them 16-8, leaving them at 58-28. Not bad, I'll take it. Then we can watch everyone talk about the Yankees' struggles during the All-Star break.

Normally I don't like all the attention the yankees get for being good or bad, but since nothing will change, I will revel in the joy that is the yankees blowing chunks and getting media attention for it.

That would also be twice in 5 years that the Sox had the best record in baseball at the All-Star Break.

That's right. Let's just hope things go better than the last time. I think they will since there are actual pitchers with functioning arms on this team.

Also, I may have to root for the Cubs again this weekend. I would love to see the Yankees fall about 7 or 8 under before the ASB.

I would love to see 60 wins at the break. But realistically,
58-30 sounds about right.

Well, I'd like to see them simply run the tables in the run-up to the ASG [which won't happen - of course]... but if they get to 55, that'd be REAL good.

I'll go with 56 wins by the break.

hell, as long as the white sox are in first place thats all that matters...60 wins by the break would just be a bonus, that is if the twins are still outside looking in

Let's not spend time contemplating what might happen four weeks from now...just concern yourself with this evening and Arizona.

To me, the only thing that matters is from the ASB to the end of the season.

What's the saying? You can lose seasons early, but you can't win them.

They'd have to win 75% of their games until then to hit 60.

While that'd be great, I'm still satisfied to take series--two out of three at least.

That would put them at 58 wins or close to it, if they can keep up that pace.
What we can have fun watching until then is Minnesota. Hopefully they can hit a nice long losing skid (I know not likely) so we can build our lead.

Actually, people are wondering what will happen over the next four weeks, not what will happen four weeks from now. Plus, we don't have to concentrate on Arizona- the Sox do, and I'm sure they will do so. They should absolutely annihilate Shawn Estes tonight.

I would be satisfied if they won every game up until the AS break, but I'll take it if they lose one every now and then; no team is perfect.

The last AL teams to win 60 by the AS break were the '98 Yankees (61-20) and the 2001 Mariners (63-24). It would be a damn accomplishment but "It don't mean a thing without the ring."

Was that 2001 Mariners got knocked out by the Yankees?
