Cliff Politte's begun to turn heads, and rightfully so. He does nothing short of mowing down opponents like a warm knife through butter. He is doing everything Ozzie has called him to do, and he deserves major props.

Lately, Politte's been getting ahead of most hitters with a much greater ease, and ultimately getting those hitters out. He's recorded three wins in the past two weeks...a stat that is outstanding coming from a bullpen pitcher. I think Politte could emerge as our stud non-closer for the year.

Politte's been so good that I think he deserves the dancing banana. Here's to you, Cliff Politte! :supernana:

After watching him pitch last season with the Sox, I'm not surprised by his 2005 success.

Just because it is habit for the Politte does not mean we shouldn't appreciate it. So I concur with your thread, and would also like to add a dancing banana. :bandance:

And don't forget his fake bunt/slap RBI hit in Colorado- that was beautiful.

Or his chugging around third to score a run either!

Someone needs to make up a slogan with the words "Cliff" and "whiff" or something. I tried but I came up empty.

The guy's got a great sense of humor as well. Before a game this year, kids were by the bullpen asking for autographs. Then one kid ran down there with a cubs shirt on. We all yelled at Cliff to not give him one. He looked at us and was like "Watch this." So he asked the kid if he was a cubs fan, the kid agreed, and Cliff was like "forget it" and turned around to walk away. He of course was just joking and started smiling and gave the kid an autograph. All of us got a good laugh at that.

So here's to you, Cliff. :gulp:
