Indifferent. They are currently doing the hot ticket game that A LOT of people want to watch. It's all about ratings, and if I was an exec with FOX, I'd be doing the same thing.

And it isn't like the Red Sucks and the Flubs are horrible teams right now.

The announcers they have are usually ok, not fantastic and nothing legendary about them but they get the job done. The only announcer they have on staff I absolutely hate is Tim "I state the obvious" McCarver.

The in studio crew of Zelasko and Kennedy are absolutely brutal. Can't stand a word they say.

I think their regular season coverage is just fine, though they really have a problem getting back to the game in time to catch the first few pitches. Their playoff and all star game coverage is god-awful. Especially last year when they were using the Dodge jingle and logo as a bump between replays and the studio.

Basically the dodge jingle thing illustrates my major complaint about Fox Baseball coverage. They do way too much advertizing and cross marketing and it becomes really annoying and distracting. A couple years ago the started game 1 of the world series with a Gene Hackman monologue and when they came back from the tape they plugged his movie and then talked about the game second. Then they always set up the green board behind the plate to plug some lousy Fox show. The baseball just seems to be an afterthought for them and it's just a tool for advertizing.

I still miss the NBC Game of the Week with Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola.that was classic. I used to love NBC doing games late in september and during the playoffs.

Here in Michigan, their coverage has been bugging me, because they haven't shown the Sox at all except for when they played the cubs. Seems like we always get either Boston or New York here even though Chicago is only hours away. And then what really stinks about that is that the game is blacked out on MLB.TV for me even though I can't watch it on tv either.

I hate the pregame and the whole format, soo many ads, and it's all kind of annoying, I'd like to see NBC or another network give it a shot.

Also a thumbs down as they were previously advertising HighDef for their weekly games, that is until the first game in which now the HD games are going to be the playoffs and All Star Game

I think that baseball needs to revaluate it's national TV schedule. Fox has proven time and time again that they have no business covering MLB events, largely because their announcing teams aren't knowledgable enough. I've lost count of the number of times I've corrected a statement made by one of their broadcasters during the course of a game. It really bothers me that people who are paid to discuss baseball have so much difficulty getting their facts straight.

Example:

"Mark Bellhorn led all of baseball in strikeouts in 2004." -- said by Tim McCarver during the 2004 ALCS

In reality, Adam Dunn led baseball in strikeouts. Bellhorn led the American League.

"Derrick Lee was originally a member of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays." -- said by Kevin Kennedy sometime last season

In reality, Derrick Lee was a member of the Florida Marlins, and before that, he spent time in the San Diego Padres system. He has never been associated with the Rockies.

or the Devil Rays, as I'm pretty sure you meant to say, Kennedy.

And if memory serves, this is the 3rd time now for Ditka doing the 7th inning stretch. Obviously they are getting hard-up for people to do that asinine drill.

Thank you. I was thinking about the Colorado series when I made that post.
