Jesus, the members of the Cubs rotation are the most fragile bitches in baseball.

Eh, injuries are never funny. Though he may want to work on sliding.

Zambrano made a hard, akward slide into 2nd and goofed up his toe. They taped it up and he went out to pitch the 6th, but he took himself out of the game after making a couple of warmup tosses.

Maybe to protect the Cubs precious starters, Dusty will have them hire personal assistants who can play for them so they won't get hurt. Or maybe the Tribune Company will hire stunt doubles.

Let me guess. Tomorrow's Cubune will quote Hendry offering the excuse that Zambrano's toes are sore from emailing family on the internet (actually surfing porn sites) using his feet instead of his still-tender hands.

The sad thing is, no teal was needed there. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if that happened.

The Cubs are running the risk of not being able to field an entire twenty-five man roster this season. It seems as though every player they have finds himself on the DL. What's really going to be interesting is when Derrick Lee's hotstreak finally ends. He has been doing absolutely everything for that sorry bunch, and once he starts to slow down, they won't be able to score any runs.

So far, all the wrong teams are winning.

Cubs winning isn't actually a bad thing for the Sox. Though I really hope the Cards can take the series from the Yankees and send them further down their death spiral.
