Ol' No. 2

The San Diego Padres (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/sdg/) traded pitchers Mike Bumstead and R.D. Spiehs on Thursday to the Seattle Mariners (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/sea/) for shortstop Wilson Valdez (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7421/). Relief pitcher Angel Tovar was also demoted from the Portland Beavers to the Mobile BayBears.
Anyone know the record for most teams in a single year?

Dave Kingman played for four teams in 1977. He became the first (only?) player in history to hit a home run for a team in every division (Mets, Yankees, Padres & Angels)...
Not sure if that's the record, though.

I think that Kingman and Davey Martinez are the only ones to play for 4 teams in one season.
In 2000, Martinez played for Tampa Bay, the scrubs, the Rangers and Blue Jays.
Mike Kilkenny, a left-handed pitcher, was traded three times within the course of about a month in 1972. He was traded twice in May and only once in June, but in those days there was (as there should be today) a June 25 trade deadline.
