Chicago Cubs (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/chc/) (30-25) – Despite all the bad things that have happened to them (primarily injuries), if the playoffs were to start today, the Cubs would be the NL wild-card team. They're going to get Nomar Garciaparra (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5706/) back by the All-Star break, and it looks like Mark Prior (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6787/) and Kerry Wood (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5982/) will be back before then. The Cubs went 6-1 during their West Coast trip, and they're 9-1 in their last 10 games. I think the Cubbies are in the top 10 to stay.
This is from the power rankings page from this past week... does he even have a clue what he is talking about?

Cubs are doing quite fine without Chowder-head in the lineup.
What delusional Cub fans fail to realize is Neifi Perez has adequately replaced Nomar's production. Sure, it's possible Nomar could have been batting w/a higher AVG., but the discrepancy isn't comparable to our RF situation last year where the differences between Magglio and Borch/Gload/Timo were over .50 points.

Sandberg failed to mention that he's referring to the 2007 All-Star break.
It's just wishful thinking on Ryno's part- he wan't Neifi out of the lineup because he's afraid of losing another wife.

What? I thought they were saying Prior might be out for the year. Back by the All-Star break? Put the crack pipe down, Ryno.
