I don't know if this was posted elsewhere, but I didn't see it. I still think that Schilling should've won, but that may be just me.

Why? Johnson pretty much did everything better than Schilling.

Quick comparison of the two:

ERA: 2.49 RJ/ 2.98 Curt
Wins: 21 RJ/ 22 Curt
IP: 249.7 RJ/ 256.7 Curt
Ks: 372 RJ/ 293 Curt
H + BB: 252 RJ/ 276 Curt
HR: 19 RJ/ 37 Curt

Schilling has one more win and 7 more innings, that's almost meaningless. Meanwhile Johnson has big advantages in Ks, homers and ERA, plus a small advantage in baserunners.

Looks like the Unit was clearly better and got what he deserved, the NL Cy Young.
