:bandance: No joke.

I just got a cell phone call from a friend at the game tonight who told me the same thing. The media in this town is gonna absolutely love this.

The Cubs appeared to be on their way to the World Series, and now this!

I wonder if they'll be serving that cat at Harry Caray's next spring to reverse the "Black Cat Curse."

All this does is give Dusty yet another excuse.

Yeah I saw that. It was a break between innings for the Sox.

It had a white chest though, so not fully black...but still enough of black for the media to make excuses about it.

Also, in about the 8th inning they showed a group of 4 fans. Three girls and a guy and the guy was flaunting his WHITE SOX shirt! It was a great sight to see since he was on the tube for about 5 seconds. (Then Barrett hit his 2nd HR of the game).

Well, too bad it wasn't a day game... because you know black cats handle the heat better than white cats do...

Just a waste of all that good dark fur...

I wonder if a Sox fan snuck a black cat into the park and let it out on the field... :redneck

Well, it's obvious that that's the reason the Cubs got beat by the Blue Birds. (2 in a row ). Also, because it's getting hot, Burnitz, Barrett and Rusch are having a harder time. Also, because they're at Wrigley, it's harder for them to play there, with the wind blowing in, or out. Also, all those day games make it harder to play. Plus, when they play at night, it's harder because the crowd is alot more rowdy and rambunctious. Very distracting. It's also cooler at night, so Patterson, Lee, & Ramirez have a more difficult time. Not only that, but whenever they play, the media and sports blab radio talk about them the next day and criticize Johnny Baker and the players for things they did or didn't do. Did I forget anything ?

Well, this will be the official reason for the Cubs' June swoon. Nevermind the fact that their June schedule includes Toronto, New York, Boston, the Sox, and Milwaukee. In Cubdom, 2005 will be remembered as the year that darn black cat blew the wildcard lead.

By the way...the June swoon is going to be freakin' awesome to watch this year. Get out the Jiffy Pop...it's going to be a heckuva show.:D:

A repeat of that infamous day of Sept. 9, 1969, in Shea Stadium, when a black cat ran past Ron Santo in the on-deck circle and a day later the Cubs were out of first place for good? A new sign of bad luck?

"Not to me, because he wasn't all black," Cubs manager Dusty Baker said. "So it doesn't mean nothing.

"Where did he come from? Does he live here? Did someone let him go or what?"

Right now, it's a mystery, although there is a cat that has been living in Wrigley Field.

Of course, this couldn't be as sinister as 1969 because these Cubs aren't even in first place, except in the wild-card race.

I didn't know that the wild-card race was on before the All-Star break!?

Well the whole telecast was cursed... I want to know who's idea it was to interrupt that poor vendor for the whole game, and interview him? Then Prior and Wood's wives interview, if they faked laughed one more time or made one more prepared quote about how great their husbands are doing or how Kerry was going to be angry to night for her saying to much... I puked in my mouth 6 times listening to that ****. But it was like watching an accident so I had to watch!

The cat was obviously a disgruntled Sox fan bent on causing a disturbance. After all, it was wearing Sox colors.

As a side note, Kerry Wood's wife has a sweet set of antlers.

(FWIW, both my cats have white socks....)

On the replay it looked to me like the cat did have white sox. My boyfriend commented that it was the year of the white socks.

It couldn't have been the cat of a Sox fan; it didn't kill the ivy in right field.
