I wish they would show the draft on ESPN or ESPN2. At least the first few rounds. I don't see why they couldn't because they televise the NHL and WNBA draft. I also think it would provide hype for College baseball, which would help ESPN's ratings.

I assume in the next couple of years the draft will go on the air, but right now not enough people care about it, and the MLB has only started to hype it up.

The NFL enjoys the free recognition of all the college football marquis names in their draft, whereas with MLB, it takes a real diehard to know ANY of the names drafted.

I read somewhere that the MLB clubs don't want the draft televised because agents would use it as a tool to try and go after bigger contracts.
