"Robert Person was released :o: earlier this week from the White Sox organization. The veteran right-hander posted a 2-3 record with a 7.00 ERA in seven starts with Charlotte. He struck out 24 and walked 25 over 36 innings."

Not impressive numbers, but wasn't he trying to comeback from an injury? Maybe him and the Sox had a gentlemen's agreement to let him go if there was an opportunity to get to the bigs faster with another team.

If not, I would have held on to him and given him more then 7 starts to rehab. It's not like he's holding anyone back behind him.

I think you're exactly right. The Sox realized he stunk and would never fit in so they honored their end of the deal by releasing him so he can sign with the cubs.
