It's on FOX after all. It's pouring where I live. What's it like closer to the cell? Any hope?

I'm no weather expert, but if you look on an animated dopplar it looks like the rain may pass within the hour and that there is none behind it.

It already stopped raining in Joliet.

In Evanston the clouds are very...ominous. Very windy. Since it hasn't started raining here yet - and we are due North of the Cell - the rain will probably hit in about half an hour or 45 minutes. Just in time for the first pitch.

The sun just re-appeared in Shorewood.

It may be delayed. It poured here in Romeoville a bit ago, but has stopped and the sun is coming out. Raon only lasted about 20 minutes.
We will get it in:D:

I'm due east of The Cell in Riverside at 33rd St. It's pouring like crazy right now, so it will probably hit the park soon.

The weather.com doppler showed only a small bit of rain, and a 30-40% chance of rain the rest of the night.

The radar is all red and darker red. Get to the cellar and don't forget the transistor!

Pouring in Evanston right now, but it's starting to taper off a bit. It really only rained hard for about 5 minutes. Strange. I bet it's clear in about 10 more minutes. Might not even be a delay.

I'm 40 miles west. It rained heavily for all of 10-20 minutes, then died. All is good now.
I am sure the same storm will pass through Chicago soon, be done in a little bit, and then the game will be on.
I predict a 10-20 minutes delay, if that....

I'm in Lincoln Park... about 5 or 6 miles straight north of the Cell. We had a nasty 15 minute storm that dumped a ton of rain. If anything the game will be delayed a half hour or so, but i'm sure the tarp was out and we always hear about the drainage system so I would guess they'll get it going.

And remember that the Cell actually has a modern drainage system that can handle large amounts of rain, unlike a certain other ballpark, which has a drainage system consisting of a guy standing under the field trying to suck the water out with a straw.

...and when it isn't raining, he uses the straw for the urine cleanup all over the ballpark.

That had me laughing out loud. That was hilarious, although I think we should scold Man Soo Lee for jumping on our staff's ace.

FOX here showed a snippet of Buehrle sliding on the wet tarp, but I get to watch Angels/Red Cubs - a perfect regional game for Minnesota, right?
