He obviously had this little analysis in mind, especially appropriate because the Sox have the best record in MLB.
He said "Rowand is obviously a better player, yet Corey Patterson gets more attention." He seemed to suggest the media was responsible.
He also correctly noted that attention/attendance in Chicago usually came down to who had the better team (Sox were the first to draw 2 million in Chi, 83), but since the mid-80's, it's been all Flubs, due primarily to WGN making Harry a "star."
He also talked about the "abject hate" that Sox/Flubs fans feel for each other and the opposing team. And the anti-Flubs parties that were held in virtually "every bar on the South Side" during Game 7 of the 2003 NLCS following the Bartman game.
"The only thing they have in common is both have waited painfully long for a WS title."
Good to hear an honest assessment of baseball reality in Chicago.
