Here's the article from whitesox.com

CHICAGO -- The White Sox announced Monday that they have agreed to a contract extension with manager Ozzie Guillen.
The new agreement states that the White Sox will pick up the 2006 option on Guillen's original deal and add two years, plus an option for 2009.

Gene Lamont wasnt bad. Ozzie still has one less division title than jerry manuel. Good start, but he isnt on his way to cooperstown quite yet.

The phrase least heard from White Sox fans is Great move Mr. Williams and Mr. Reinsdorf. I support the contract extension. Somewhere Brad Palmer is crying.

Gene Lamont was HORRIBLE. Right there with Don Gutteridge.

your username is an affront to all that is rational. maybe we should just assume teal from you is anti teal since your username is in black script.

Great.

Bah.

The SS Ozzarue may crash and burn one day, but then again, so do most managerial gigs. My's well enjoy the ride while it lasts - he brings excitement and passion back to the South Side, something that has been missing for years.

Here's to four more years of winning and expletive laced commentary

Wow. That's quite a comparison. Sox managers don't get much worse than Don Gutteridge. I was a kid when Gutteridge was managing and bought the excuses Bob Elson gave for moves like bringing in a pitcher to issue an intentional walk and bringing in a new pitcher to face the next hitter. And he won less division titles than Gene Lamont, too.

Great. I'm with you on this. I just hope he gets better as he gets more experience.

This is great news. I don't agree with every choice he makes, but his overall style and enthusiasm for the game make him a great fit for us.

This was a premature decision. Ozzie has not proven enough to be locked up for another three years. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against Ozzie, I just wanted to see more before they made a big commitment. He seems to do a nice job of managing the players, but he's had a few major brain farts in game strategy / management decisions. Looks like he'll be around a while. I hope he's able to improve.
