2-4 with a Home Run and a single. Also throw in a walk. I feel good about the Sox getting to Washburn.

on 8/18/03 Frank had 2 big homers against Washburn including a tying homer and a walkoff homer.

on 8/18/03 Frank had 2 big homers against Washburn including a tying homer and a walkoff homer.I was at that Game. Washburn pitched a complete game. I remember that one. That was awesome. It was Buehrle vs. Washburn if i'm correct.

Hm, what will he do tomorrow? This is a tough one, I'm not getting a good signal. *contacting the heavens...rubbing temples*

Okay, got it. Thomas will hit for the home run cycle. A solo shot in the first, a two run homer in the 3rd, a three run bomb in the 6th and a walk off grand slam in the 9th to win it. Buehrle will pitch 7 innings, giving up one, but Vizcaino and Shingo will give up 5 runs in the 8th and cheat him out of another win. Fortunately, Scott Shields is wild and walks the bases loaded for Frank--who is asked to suicide squeeze as the game is knotted at 6, but instead he points to the left field seats and plants one on the concourse. The next morning, he's criticized by Tribune sportswriters and a dejected Paul Konerko for not being a team player. Timo Perez hurts his back hoisting Thomas onto his shoulders and is out indefinitely.

A home-run 'cycle' would be nice... which has never been done [as far as I know].

Listen, if any of the countless prediction threads are any indication, none of you has psychic powers, so why give these "realistic" predictions? Do you want to see him strikeout or make any outs for that matter?:rolleyes:

1-3, BB, HR, 2R, 3RBI.

Podsednik leads off with a bunt single. Iguchi gets a "meat" fastball and lines a sharp single. Frank watches strike 1, ball 1, ball 2, then launches one for a 3-run lead.

Welcome back, big fella!! You've been sorely missed!

I'm not really into predicting his stats. I just want to see him put together quality at-bats and make solid contact. If he can do that, his numbers will take care of themselves.

Sorry guys, but he hasn't seen major league pitching in 12 months. He hit 180 in his rehab assignment. Lots of people predicting homeruns... c'mon guys.. I'm just glad he's back. I'll wait a week before I start to expect anything. His first 10-15 at-bats, he'll be lucky to make good, solid contact - seriously.

Did any of that stop Bo Jackson?

Frank may very well hit a homerun tomorrow. It will probably take him awhile to get comfortable and get his average up, but he is still a big man with a lot of power. It only takes one mistake from the pitcher. I could easily see Washburn try and challenge Hurt since he has been out for awhile.

I thought it reeked of cub fan.

If we ever get that tag can you whip up a program that will attach it to every post game thread.

For the last time, he hit .190 during his rehab assignment because he was not trying to drive the ball like he normally does. It was mentioned several times by the Knight's coaching staff that he spent most of his at-bats trying to work on specific things, such as hitting the ball the other way. He only really focused on trying to hit the last two or three days he was there, and during that time, he hit several balls to warning track and just missed a grand slam.

I don't expect much from him, either, but to suggest that he won't even make contact is ridiculous. This isn't Joe Borchard we're talking about here.

The Cubune is reporting that he will be in the starting lineup. Honestly, do the Sox have anyone who can do better right now? :o:

I think they'll put him at DH. Him being back on a day many people have off of work (to honor the Memory of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice) should spike ticket sales. I have a good feeling about Frank today. If he can get a hit or two or a walk and a hit, that would be awesome. I did hear that Frank was trying to work on things and not just crush the ball...however if he hits one out today, I'll be smiling...we all will be. Buerhle usually needs a few runs to work with. Hopefully he can go 8 with Hermie pitching the 9th unless we're up by so much that we can put in a reliever that needs to build some confidence.
