I'm planning on going to Monday's game. I think its smart to buy tickets ASAP, because I am predicting a sell-out, regardless of how this road trip goes.

DumpJerry
05-26-2005, 02:24 PM
When I went there today to buy 14 tickets, all he has was 500. You could wait utill the last minute for turn-ins, but being a holiday, there might not be too many of those.

Actually, I would be willing to bet we get pretty damn close to a sell-out, and get over the 40,000 hump. Good seats are going fast, and if the weather is nice, it'll be a helluva crowd.

I got my ticket days ago and was pleasantly surprised/reminded that it was 1/2 price Monday, even though it's a day game. On that basis alone I'll bet the lower half will be crammed--I've yet to see the upper deck full.

Hell I bought opening day tix for the UD the day before...

Seemingly innocent
broadcaster has been

"At first we thought Ron was just unlucky or bad with numbers," Flores said. "But when we realized that based on the law of averages, even a trained chicken should win with more regularity than Santo, we started to look a little closer."

Here's a quote from the story:
Injuries of the Half-Year
FIRST PRIZE -- During baseball's April return to the Ice Age, Cubs broadcaster Ron Santo was hopping up and down for warmth, got too close to the overhead heater in the Shea Stadium broadcast booth and singed his toupee.

Wait a minute......a guy with 2 amputated legs hopping up and down? My bull-bleep-o-meter is jumping off the screen.

If you could get 14 tickets together anywhere, it will not be close to a sell out. Although I did just try for two tickets best available and it was section 534. One ticket got me in section 110.

I got 7 in two rows so we are not spread out in one long line of 14. That also makes it easier to get 14 people together since they sell the tickets row-by-row. There may not have been 14 in one row as close I as I was able to get.

I bought tickets last week at the park. Down the first base side 18 rows back. Not bad (sec 117) My sister in law is gonna come last minute. Best available was upper deck. She opted for a bleacher seat. Lower bowl will be filled. I'm getting the last two or three sections of the upper deck will be blue.

Don't forget the fact that the Sox are facing the lefty Jarrod Washburn and they've been as good as any team in the majors against lefties (I think they have the highest Runs/Game against lefty starters).

Washburn/Buehrle? Half-price Monday? Deja vu all over again. They had the same matchup last year on a half-price Monday. The Sox won that game 3-2, I believe. I was there last year for that matchup. And I will be there again on Monday.... kinda scary?

Didn't Washburn (And Buehrle) completely dominate that game until about the 7th or 8th inning, until Big Frank hit a 2 run HR, either to tie it or go ahead I dont know...

I cant remember if that was the game, but if it was....Big Frank's comin back Monday.....Half price.....Same pitching matchup...WSfan84 was there last year, and this year......What I'm getting at here is this is a GUARANTEED W :gulp:

No kidding! I'll be sitting in the same section just 3 rows in front of you.

Oh, and for the record for those who think no more lower deck tickets are available...Ticketmaster isn't allowed to sell every ticket in the stadium. There are (but sparingly) still tickets left...You just have to purchase them at the box office...Get there early tho.
