Watch out in your recliners this weekend, guys. Don't break any fingers.

This would almost be sad... if it wasn't the Cubs.

I actually know someone who suffered a similar injury. His situation didn't involve a recliner, but he did get his finger caught between two tables, and ended severing off the tip. Fortunately, he was okay, and his injury has since healed. It is worth mentioning that the person in question is a Cubs fan.

At least the team is focusing on what is important:

Todd Wellemeyer was seen in the clubhouse before Thursday's game, pleading with a representative of the Cubs marketing department to stop playing Van Halen's "Jump" before the opening pitch of every game. Wellemeyer believes the Cubs should adopt a more current song.

The Cubs began playing "Jump" in 1984 when they won the NL East title. Wellemeyer was born in 1978, Van Halen's debut year.

Moves in the off-season to help the team? Nah, let's just change the intro song instead. Instant success.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that Remlinger is a complete human gas can this year in the Flubs bullpen and Todd Walker is returning from the DL.
