The Sox have become a team Bobby Knight would love. Infield hits, speed and pressure replace back-cuts and screens. Clutch doubles and homers replace the timely three. Most importantly though, pitching replaces classic unrelenting defense. The sum is much greater than the parts. KW has plugged in the perfect pieces and Ozzie is running the system. What I hope this means is that pieces can come and go but the product will remain. Forgive the analogy but I'm hoping this is a sustained philosophy and the Sox become a team noone wants to play, ever.
