I think the Cardinal fans should be more concerned about the South Side's prodigal son returning than Burls leaving us.

Mark Mulder would sure look good toeing the rubber for the Sox next year.

Didn't Mulder sign an extension?

Didn't Mulder sign an extension?

No, but he has an option for next year. I don't think the Cardinals have picked it up yet, but I'm sure they will.

As far as I know Mulder did not sign an extension.

I know Hudson did with the Braves.

Buehrle said he will stay with the Sox so long as they want him there. That seems to imply that he hopes KW will try to resign him after the 2006 season. I'm not worried about Mark. He is someone who will probably pitch his final years in SL, after he is passed his prime. I'd like to see him have his whole career here, but that's unlikely. I just hope he doesn't walk after 2006, but I doubt that he will leave us then.

Hudson signed an extension with the Braves - Mulder has not signed with the Cards.

Give him what he wants...if it's a 5 year 40-50 mil extension...or even 60 mil...he's earned it. He should be a top cy young contender this year and for years in the future, him and Garland. It will be important to lock those 2 up for a long time. I like seeing his responses, you can't blame him for rooting for his favorite team growing up as long as they don't play the Sox. In fact, the Cards actually help us a lot beating AL central teams and other AL teams...helps us big time in wildcard/division team records. I cheer for the Cards a very very very distant second from the Sox...but I think a large amount of Sox fans cheer for the Cards too.

One last thing, you have to love how he was a 38th round pick and in the majors within 2 years :-)
