May be having KC in the Central has padded the pitching stats but the Sox along with the Twins ,Tigers and Indians are getting it done. The Central also has the top 4 staffs with the best .obp.

Taking a harder look at Minnesota will show that the term "they don't beat themselves" is pretty obvious . Besides the built in advantage of the Metrodome and the Twins solid defense, what really limits teams scoring chances of scoring off them is their walk totals.

The Twins have issued 56 walks to date and the closest team to them is the Tribe at 102. This isn't anything new because the Twins were #1 in team .era and walks in 2004 and 2nd in walks issued in 2003.

The Sox added ability to score runs without necessarily hitting the long ball along with their solid pitching is a new twist for the Twins to handle.
Our old 16 inch beer league line up is a thing of the past .
