CNN/SI has reified and stigmatized the Sox' woes as a "curse" comparble to the cubs.

The Hegelian march of a dumb idea, absorbing everything into it as it rolls along... Makes me sick to my stomach.

Our only "curse" is having to share a city with the Cubs...

I really hope somebody going to one of the 6 games this year brings a big sign that says "We don't need no stinking curses!"

or something along those lines...

Nicely put. I think of it as the Curse of Modern Sportsjournalism: take one bad story idea and re-write it 586,314 times.

(Plus this elite sports publication might want to get one of their photogs to take a photo to replace the one they are using from 2003 (or earlier).)

The only curses we have on the south side are the ones that come from Ozzie's mouth after a tough loss or after Magglio says something to piss Ozzie off.

I read it as "refried" and suddenly became very hungry for Mexican food.

If you read Rich Lindberg's books you would know that Looie said when he was traded away in '62: They're not going to win a pennant for another 40 years." (Of course, when they got him back in '65 he said that he didn't mean it.) Hey, 1965 plus 40 is.....

Hegelian? As opposed to Spinozan, Kantian, or Rousseauian? Sounds like a dialectic dissertation in the works. And this relates to White Sox baseball how?

There are no CURSES!!!!!!!! PERIOD!!! NONE!!! The Sox have just not had very many good teams. Same with the Cubs except their teams are usually worse than the Sox.

Ozzie Guillen, in the April 18m 2005 SI: "You know why (Sox fans don't wax poetic about their team's dry spell the way North Siders do)? Because it's an excuse. I don't think we have a curse. We've just had a lot of horse---- teams."
