The contacts are the same Roberts said makes the seams of the ball standout. Hopefully AJ can keep hitting like this.

My brother is trying these out in practice and says they are unbelieveable. They take a while to get used to, but he can't wait to use them in games over the summer.

If they keep making hitters hitting like they are for the whole season i wonder if they will get banned too... Because Roberts couldnt hit .300 b4 and now he is hitting near .400 and has like more HR's this year than all other years combined.

Are these the Balco performance enhancing contact lenses?

I wondered the same thing when I heard about them. Why are these allowed when steroids aren't. In fact, the ability to see a ball better enhances your playing ablility more than being able to hit a ball farther. My guess is they won't be though because they don't hurt your body. The dangers of steroids are what keep them out.

If they are working that well maybe Tadahito should get some too. He'd probably be hitting about .430 right now if Brian Roberts' success is any sort of indication. And Paulie, too. He could be hitting .260 right now!

They're auburn-colored. I saw no mention of them coming in either cream or clear.

Brian Roberts has ALWAYS had the potential to hit .300+ and change. He's only 27 and he did hit nearly .280 last year. Also, the auburn-colored contacts are completely useless during night games and Roberts is hitting just as well at night as he is during the day.

If I was a betting man though, I'd wager he won't hit .370 all year.

As for the power...I've got no explanation.

They're no different than sunglasses out on the market. If you have bad eyes and need contacts they're just that much greater for ya so you don't have to wear sunglasses and you can feel more comfortable.

He hit a crapload of doubles last year, which typically is an indication of potential power. Looks like those doubles are flying out this year a bit more...

Yes. Winds from the NE are blowing in from around Center Field.

Thankfully, all 3 games at the Urinal this weekend are day games. Could AJP be ready for a breakout series? Not that HR's in the last 4 of 5 games in a slump....

For once, I'd like to think that a guy's having a breakout season as a result of hard work and solid coaching, but I guess I'm still too cynical to think that.
That said, I think Roberts is on the juice.
