Frank's debut was scheduled to start about 40 minutes ago, but the game has been delayed.

For anybody interested in following these games, the Knights offer streaming audio on their website (http://www.aaaknights.com/).

Game now underway. The delay was due to a delayed flight from Charlotte. Adkins is on the mound for the Knights. Frank is batting 3rd and, after 1/2 inning, hitting 1.000 (1-for-1 on a line drive up the middle).

Borchard got a hit?

On a sidenote, if Frank keeps this up, he might be back even sooner than we thought. It's also nice to see that he was able to run out a double during his second at-bat.

Good point. The fact he isn't hitting balls off the wall and having to hold with a single is a good sign, maybe the most important sign.

Just out of curiosity, did Frank get any kind of ovation from the Ottawa fans, because he's a Major League player?

What? Thomas can run well enough to get to second base?

Get him up ASAP. He doesnt need 40 at bats down there. 25 should be plenty. And 25 plate appearances as he'll probably walk a ton.

You mean he only reached base 75% of the time he came to the plate? He's really lost his touch.

Like others have said, lets just see how he feels tommorow. There's no question about his ability to hit and draw walks. Just about his ability to deal with the pain of running the bases in game situations on a day to day basis. But it is good that he got off to such a great start.

To my credit, the thread is currently masquerading as "Is Frank rushing back?"
I just thought the actual game deserved its own thread. Unless there's yet another one that I'm still missing, in which case I need to get myself some glasses.

Only 2-3? What happened with that 3rd AB? I don't know about this Frank Thomas guy. Surely we have some better prospects than him.

From the brief highlights I saw, he didn't appear to be running too well. It looked like he might have just been a little tentative to run on it, though. Hopefully he feels fine tomorrow and can get back here as soon as possible.

According to whitesox.com, he didn't really run his best, but (and this is the best news of the night), no pain.

SportsNite on Comcast had a complete report from Ottawa (also spoke with James Baldwin) Thomas said he left the game in the 9th because both he and the Charlotte trainer felt he had run enough for the first evening's work.
