CSN To Televise Games Friday and Sunday

Chicago, IL – Comcast SportsNet, the television home for more White Sox and Cubs games than any other network, is ready to start up the annual “Crosstown Series” rivalry in a big way as Comcast SportsNet will air a live, expanded, pre-game special featuring the first-time ever televising of batting practice on Friday, May 20 beginning at 11:00 am. Plus, for Comcast SportsNet’s coverage of the May 20 game, Cubs Hall of Famer, Billy Williams and US Olympian, Gold Medalist and Chicago Bandits Pitcher, Jennie Finch will join Cubs announcers Len Kasper and Dan Plesac (filling in for Bob Brenly) in the announcing booth. Comcast SportsNet’s coverage of the May 22 contest will feature White Sox announcers Ken “Hawk” Harrelson and Darrin Jackson calling the game.

WGN will also televise Friday and Sunday with Hawk and DJ on Channel 9 on the Sunday game.

FOX Chicago will air the middle game.

The networks need to be commended for this because they must realize how painful it is to listen to the northside announcers. Not that it matters to me, I'll be tuned in to Rooney & Farmer

The usual announcers on TV are painful to listen to. I doubt they have any idea or even care.

I wonder what Hawk and DJ do when they get these games off. You think they're at the game or just watching at home?

I seem to remember a year or so ago, someone asked Hawk about this. He said he usually goes to the game and watches from the ramp going into the clubhouse. However, he also admitted that he had been known to stay in his hotel room and watch the game on TV.

This is sweet, they really got something right on this one, it was a big pain to be forced to see the Flubbies telecast (I love our radio team, but the delay kills me), nice to see there will be a choice for Fri and Sun
