#1 third week in a row, but I love this (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylc=X3oDMTBqdGgyMXV0BF9TAzI1NjY0ODI1BHNlYwNl Y2w-?slug=rs-rankings051605&prov=yhoo&type=lgns) groundbreaking statement

They set a major league record by holding a lead in 37 straight games. This tells me that they jump on opponents early and don't give up leads late.

The number at the end of the game is usually higher than their opponent, as well.

Also, the Sox are playing "within themselves" and putting points on the board.

9. Los Angeles Angels (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/laa/) of Anaheim (21-16) They still haven't reached their potential. They rank third in the AL in team ERA but their .243 average is near the bottom of the league. You just know that with Darin Erstad (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5634/), Vladimir Guerrero (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5737/) and Garrett Anderson they are bound to score some runs.
The Angels have a worse team BA than the Sox, but I never read, "You just know that with the Big Hurt coming back, Konerko and Rowand they are bound to score some runs."

Side note to broadcasters, writers, et al: I'm sick of hearing, "The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim & Orange County & Southern California, etc., etc." Enough already. We get it. It wasn't funny to begin with, and it's just plain annoying now. (Thank you Ryne for simply stating the name of the team.)

That is one of the most profound statements I have ever hear coming out of the mouth of anyone who ever wore the cap with the eternal logo of ignorance (i.e. cute little red 'C'). Thanks for sharing that.

I just refer to them as the halos. (And the greatest moment in their history was when Reggie Jackson began walking in from CF saying "I must kill... the queen.":D:

Luckily for all of us Enrico Pallazzo was there to save the day. Too bad he didn't have a more consistent strike zone that day, but saving the queen made up for it....
