What a fascinating little synopsis of Sox history--not badly done at all.

Neck-tingling factor: check out what the 1906, 1959 and 1983 teams have in common--sounds quite familiar... especially the nickname for the 1906 team...:o: kinda eerie...

A Cub fan had to be the one who submitted this......

a heated Sox-Cubs rivalry (http://www.i-encyclopedia.com/index.php/White_Sox-Cubs_rivalry) has developed, with some Sox fans appearing to root against the Cubs almost as much as for the Sox

What is the common factor? Hitless wonders?

Yup. That, and the mention of how the teams were built on pitching and defense.

And the whole "winnin' ugly" thing from 1983--'cause Lord knows, we've won some ugly this year.

Most championship-caliber teams have excellent pitching and defense. Although, the Red Sox did win the Series last year built around offense.

They still had darn good pitching though.

I like the Wikipedia entry for the Sox better than the i-Encyclopedia entry:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_White_Sox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_White_Sox)

For one thing, Wikipedia describes the rivalry between the Sox and Cubs as mutual. It also addresses the rivalry with the Twins. And, of course, it refers to WSI as "The Largest and Most Influential White Sox Fan Website."

I got into an argument with a FOBB who believed that "Theo's" victory last year was a victory for the Moneyball system. No seriously.

Guys, compare this 'i-encyclopedia' with the better Wikipedia entries. Pay special attention to the 'Sox-Cubs rivalry' section.

It looks as if some nameless Sox Army people went to work on Wikipedia (good). It also looks as if someone with a poor command of English didn't like that very much, and posted a b.s. entry on 'i-encyclopedia'.

Lots of crap about the 'deteriorated' South Side, didja notice?
