This week, I made my reservations for the offseason fun of White Sox baseball. First, I made my arrangements to be in Tuscon March 21-24. I am hopeful that there will be White Sox baseball at Tucson Electric Park, but I will still go down there even if some labor issue prevents games from being played. I'll have the Arizona Wildcats hosting the archrival Arizona State Sun Devils to satisfy my baseball fix, and Tucson is a nice place for weekend R & R.

I have also made my arrangements for SoxFest 2002 where Frank Thomas, Mágglio Ordóńez, and others are scheduled to appear. Those of you who go to SoxFest know what kind of fun it is, especially if you're smart enough to avoid autograph lines! The nightly rate of $115 plux tax is extremely reasonable for a hotel like the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The best part for those who stay at the hotel is not the fest itself but after hours. Among other things, several players patronize the overpriced bar overlooking the lobby. Also, Michigan Avenue is a beautiful walk a night.
