I not sure anyone posted this yet but it's a real cool article in Newsweek about the Renaissance on the South Side. This guy sounds like a member of this site. Enjoy!

Here's the direct link that worked for me.

Pretty good article, especially since I can sympathize with a guy who moves to Chicago, is surrounded by Cub fans, and can't help but gravitate towards the Sox.

What is your story? I do love reading/hearing stories of how people became Sox fans.

BTW, that was a great article indeed. I do have special feelings about this season, and it would be great for the REAL Sox to make some major noise (and win it all).

That was a nice article. I like the end about too much deja vu in baseball.

Wow, I'm glad guys like Mr. Donck are writting intelligent articles about the White Sox. Now if we can only get one of those writers in Chicago...

I did...it was very well written. It's good a national writer can give some kudos to the Sox and the Sox fans for not following in the folly of "all-things-Cub".

Good article, didn't like the use of ChiSox though.

Man that was well-done. Perfectly described Cubs' games and had enough of a smartass edge that he should be a Sox fan (LOL at the comments about Disco Demolition).

But he sure summed it all up.

By the time a sports story gets into Newsweek it's not really news, unless you're talking about hard sports news, such as the steroids controversy. Honestly, I don't believe they should waste space on sports. That being said, the column provided an interesting opinion.

One interesting point is how he seems to say Chicago was a Cubs town even when Bill Veeck owned the team almost 30 years ago.

No, you see, it was because according to the Tribune's sources, it was a scummy SOX FAN who flushed the Koran in the toilet. Newsweek didn't get that story wrong, they just forgot to mention that part. Thanks to the Trib for clearing that up !
