Right now, Dan is talking about Frank going to the minors, and the difference between that and Giambi not going down.

Frank Thomas, your 2000 MVP.

- by the way, where's the "Frank Thomas Watch" in the papers.

The difference is that Frank has more class than Giambi.

Frank Thomas is certainly one of the most honest and forthcoming players in the league, and the media likes to use that to his detriment.

Is Dan going to kiss his ass and apologize for being Giambi's person cheerleader and media mouthpiece in 2000?

Since he's said it was upcoming, I haven't heard anything else, but Dan certainly should be asking for forgiveness since he was a big reason Giambi got the MVP over Frank. Especially in light of what a class act Frank is and what an exact opposite of a class act Giambi is.

This is great though, assuming it's a good interview but it could be the 2nd time The Big Hurt has good interview with DP on national radio. It's great for Frank and for the Sox, again assuming it's a good interview. I personally think Frank will do just fine though.

What's the over/under for the question about his relationship with that "crazy, loose cannon" Ozzie? 5 seconds? 10?

Coming up soon, I think after this break.

My bet is the 4th question.

#1 - Coming back after a year
#2 - Rehab in AAA
#3 - Sox doing really well to start the season
#4 - Ozzie

"Hope to hear from the Big Hurt next"

That just means Frank is screwing with him and won't call in.

Frank probably forgot to call. Guests do that from time to time.

It's the show producer's job to call the guest. The guest is doing the show and host the favor, not vice-versa.

I don't listen to much sports radio, but does this happen a lot? Say someone is going to do an interview then not have them on?

Phil the Showkiller, if he can hang up on the president he can certainly forget to call Big Frank.

What a waste. I really wanted the national media to touch on this topic. (giambi not willing to go to AAA but Frank is) I emailed Carmen/Silvy this morning along with mac/jurko/harry to get them to touch on it but they are local and it would have been much better on a national broadcast.

No apologies and no mention of Frank at the end of the show. Just like it never happened.

Things happen. It's not uncommon for a guest to forget that he told someone he'd do an interview. Frank might have had something come up or just forgotten about the interview. It happens a lot. No big deal...

Maybe Frank told the Showkiller and DP to stick it. Damn, I wasted my time listening to DP today.

Fair enough, but I have heard of times when Mike North had to have guests on the day after scheduled appearances because they never called in. But maybe I misunderstood what they were saying...and who wants to talk to North anyway.

DP loves the sound of his own voice. No big surprise. I did waste half of my freakin day listening to that idiot. Then again, he did play a Porcupine Tree song coming out of a break. I love that band.

Even if Frank "blew off" the interview, I'd still rather he spend the time taking batting practice or working his ankle with Herm Schneider than talking to media blowhards who inevitably will try to take advantage of Frank's candor to manufacture a supposed "feud" between Frank and Ozzie.

Jim Rome had the same trouble today with Mike Hampton. He said on air today that if anyone listening knows Hampton or will see Hampton please remind him he's supposed to call in! LOL

I am surprised the headline in the Tribune today didn't read:

He might have been on the show. I believe the Dan Patrick show goes on until 4 or 5. We just have our own local show that cuts it out. Jim Rome is the same way. His show is on in the moring and we have a local show so it doesn't come on until lat at night as a replay.
