I know all you guys are giving up on Dye...and I dont blame you's. But he will come around and he will be worth what we paid him. Paulie will come around also and will end up with yes again 40 or more homers. Our bullpen is and will be good all year...Everyone wants to talk about Shingo...but honestly I'm worried about Marte. I say lets trade Marte and get another set up man or closer. Trade Marte and Brochard for maybe a Mr. Wagner or an extra bat. I think our Sox will do just fine and yes the Juiced :redneck Twinks will fade away. I feeling a WHITE SOX WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP I CAN FEEL IT:angry:

Paulie may hit 40+ homers, but if his average remains around .200, the Sox are screwed. As for the bullpen, I'm more concerned with Shingo and Vizcaino than Marte. The other thing is, if Marte is a problem, his trade value won't be very high. Two cliches govern trades: You have to trade value to get value. Buy low, sell high.

I'm tempted to agree with this, but Konerko has driven in 25 in 34 games. If he can continue to drive in runs at this pace, it won't matter what his average is.

Then we better hope his multihomer games resemble the Toronto game rather than the Seattle game. If all he's going to do is club homers, they need to be when the sacks stacked with Sox.

No trades need to be made at this point. Shingo will come around to whatever he needs to be. Probably take over Politte's spot from last year as a righty specialist or semi setup. Thats fine, hermy as the closer and everyone else there for support. The sox have played 34 games, thats is not enough to gage where there are long term holes that need to be fixed. We will know by the all star break. My feeling is with all the quality arms in the pen everyone will be fine becuase of the support and protection they have from other pitchers in the pen and rotation.

Pauly may not be hitting, but he's drawing a ton of walks. He leads the team with 20, has a .329 OBP and a .462 SLG. He's tied with Everett with 25 RBI. So it's not as if he's totally unproductive. That average will come up.

Regarding Konerko, I have a question for anybody. I've been pretty busy with work/school so I haven't been able to watch closely, so my question is this: Is Konerko looking like a doof at the plate? Meaning, is he basically swinging the same way every time hoping he runs into a ball or does he look like he's attacking pitches?

The limited times I've seen him it appears as though it goes either way... usually in the same at bat. He'll look like a doof with one swing then get to a tough inside pitch with another. Has anybody watched him closely? If so, what are your opinions?

I was concerned about Dye when he was signed because of his health and the fact that his career year was five years ago. Marte won't get anyone out if he doesn't get the ball over the plate. He looks awful. If Shingo keeps leaving his fast ball out over the plate, he will turn into the Japanese version of Billy Koch. The relief pitching has me nervous.

If anyone is looking to ship Marte as part of a package for anyone I reccomend that it be done now while teams still see him as good, which he still can be. If he continues down this path he will lose value, though I don't think he will.
