Does anyone have information on the longest Sox winning streaks?
It seems like once they get to the #8, they just stop. It's happened twice this year already and I remember that Wimpy shaved his head at the #8 win back in 1990 or something.
The Sox haven't been known for long streaks for the last few years, but whenever they get on one, I can't remember it being any bigger than 8.

19 games from August 2 to August 23 1906
14 games from May 15 to May 30 1951
13 games from June 4 to June 16 1908
12 games from June 17 to June 27 1961
11 games from Sept 23 to Oct 3 1915

And six 10 games winning streaks in 1976, 1967, 1965, 1937, 1919 and 1901.

Didn't they win like 10 in a row, and 14 of 20 or something right after the All-Star Break in 2003??? I remember they went on a roll for those 3-4 weeks following the Break, which practically got them back into 1st place... only for The Tinkerer to throw Neal Cotts at Yankee Stadium, instead of Buehrle. That was the beginning of the end for us that season.

Thanks man. Where did you get those stats? I went to retrosheet.org, baseballalmanac.com, baseballreference.com and couldn't find anything on team stats.

White Sox Media Guide, page 318. Don't leave home without it.

I looked up 2003 on retrosheet and it was the magical number of 8 again from 7/18 to 7/25. But they did win 13 of 14 with another 5 game win streak after that loss on 7/26.
