MLB.COM has a page up detailing this year's draft (http://www.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/events/draft/y2005/index.jsp), along with a nice array of articles about the history of the draft, etc. One article tracks the progress of lats year's first round draft picks; it has this to say about Josh Fields:

18. Chicago (AL) | Josh Fields | 3B | Birmingham (AA)
Fields hit .285 straight out of Oklahoma State in the Class A Advanced Carolina League, putting him firmly on the fast track. He's got plus power potential and makes excellent adjustments at the plate, impressive considering this is the first time he's been a baseball-only guy. With great leadership and tremendous work ethic at his position, he reminds some of former OSU star Robin Ventura. He's currently trying to live up to that comparison in his first full season of pro ball with Double-A Birmingham (Southern League). The former OSU quarterback is batting .273 with two home runs and 18 RBIs in 25 games.

The White Sox get the 15th pick this round and here is what they have to say about who the Sox will pick:

15. White Sox: Cesar Carrillo, RHP, University of Miami
Some think the Sox will take Tulane's Brian Bogusevic because of their need for left-handed pitching. But they'd love to take Clement's bat if it's there at No. 15 and, if not, they like Carrillo, despite being a righty, better than Bogusevic.

I'd be interested to hear what everyone else thinks about the draft prospects for the Sox this year.

"The need for LH'd pitching?" Maybe they missed it last year when we went LH'd-crazy!

I guess ut depends on your needs, but many believe Bogusevic will end up as an everyday player because of his speed/power combo. Reminds me of a Darren Dreifort / Bobby Thigpen type.

Interesting stuff. Carillo is a Mt. Carmel grad, while Bogusevic prepped a few blocks from the Cell at De La Salle.
