Congratulations to the Sox starters on completing their 1st 5 game winning streak of the year... I can't imagine how long it's been since it last happened!

It's nice when people register because they have something intelligent to say that nobody else(or at least myself) hadn't thought of. Welcome, and keep up the good posts.

A little over a week ago. The White Sox had an 8 game winning streak before a three game losing streak and then this 3 game win streak.

But Welcome to WSI!

He means a streak where the starting pitchers got the victory in each game.

It happened last year, actually. From June 26 to July 1, the Sox won five in a row from the Cubs and Twins. The results were:

6/26: v. Cubs W6-3 (Diaz) (Remember this one, when he beat Zambrano? He was the #5 at the moment)
6/27: v. Cubs W9-4 (Loaiza)
6/29: @Min W6-2 (Buehrle)
6/30: @Min W9-6 (Garcia)
7/1: @Min W2-1 (Garland)

Technically, Felix Diaz was filling in for #4 Schoeneweis that day. Rauch, the real #5 at that point, had just won his first game of the season two games earlier. But Diaz was the actual #5 at many other points in the season. And, of course, it never happened again.

Wow, reading those names from last year just made me really happy about our rotation this year. Felix Diaz to Jon Garland...

Thanks, I wasn't thinking to dig into last year to find the last time.

I remember getting off work real late and turning the radio on to hear that Garcia was beating the twinks in one of his first starts as a white sox (If not his first...I don't remember EXACTLY), but he pitched well, despite giving up a decent portion of runs.

And the 2-1 game was the Garland v Santana battle. Things were really looking up at that point in the season.:(:

That was his first because I remember the trade went down after the last game against the Cubs at the Cell.
