Yippee! Nice observation skills Ryno. It only took you a month to notice...

1. Chicago White Sox (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/chw/) (18-7) They've gotten great pitching from Jon Garland (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6396/), who's 5-0 after recording two shutouts last week. He's been able to throw his sinker for strikes and he's beginning to realize his potential. With a lot of speed, their offense keeps finding ways to get on base and score quickly. Both Carl Everett (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5073/) (23 RBIs) and Paul Konerko (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5908/) (17 RBIs) are doing a good job driving in runs.Link (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylc=X3oDMTBpbmdmam0wBF9TAzI1NjY0ODI1BHNlYwN0 bQ--?slug=rs-rankings050205&prov=yhoo&type=lgns)

That's deceptive... He's been hitting the ball very hard the last few games, just right at people. Not that he hasn't been struggling a bit, but Paul is just as easily hitting .250-.260, IMO.

But he's also stranded a lot of runners. Not that I think Konerko is the suck. He could just as easily have 30 RBI this year.

Put it this way, Paulie is definately looking like crede did the first 2 weeks of the season. Sooner or later, as crede found out, those hard hit balls are going to find holes. Give paulie about a month and id be willing to bet paulie will be on a huge roll.

Besides, were 18-7, who cares whos hitting as long as we get the W

I hope it takes a lot less then a month for him to heat up again.

don't you know hawk knows a lot about baseball?

i mean, you could be around the game your whole life and never understand half the stuff that hawk understands.

and what really boggles the mind is that hawk's been around the game his whole life and he doesn't even understand 1/1000000th of the game of baseball

Check out Ryno's column from the week before-it sounds like he hadn't even seen a game yet:

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=rs-rankings042605&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

Of what he wrote about, I think the only thing I would have included was Buehrle. The others were hardly something that needed to be mentioned, esp. the thing with Mags and Frank.

I love Ryne but his analysis is crap. He even said after his first power rankings caused a stir he factors in where he thought they would finish, which defeats the purpose of power rankings.
