View Full Version : Cub Bimbette makes nuisance of herself at Sox game Friday Nite

I was sitting in LF, ust behind the SOX bullpen, wondering how many more
innings I was going to have to sit thru the 2005 version of Corpseball, when
about the 8th inning, a group of people sat in front of me. They were all
Sox fans, except for 2 girls, who after a few moments, I discovered to be
fans of the Mega Corporation 8 miles north. The cubby bimbette was a very attractive female, about 21 and alarmingly drunk. She saw a cub fan a few rows ahead of us (more on him later) and started yelling "woo hoo, cubs win! Cubs win! wooooo -ooooooo" The cub fan, who ive discovered has the same season ticket plan I have (always wears the same blue pullover with cubs on the front and a flubby cap-and is very quiet) quietly waved to her. Cubby bimbette then gets on the phone and starts calling some people to plan the evenings festivities. She is talking loudly and im trying to watch the game, which is unfolding directly in front of her.

After an inning of her on the phone, her other somewhat attractive coed cubby friend turns around and they start talking about where they are going
after all. The other gal notices another blue-sheep fan and they yell
Woooooo oooooooo cubs win! cubs win! The 2nd gal says, hey lets
get that cub guy to sit by us .......and walks up to the concourse to chat
with whoever he was. The quiet hooded cub fan gets up to leave his seat, and cubby bimbetter stands and yells "Cubs win! Cubs win! woooo oooooooo" Id had about enough of her nonsense at this point and I pointedly responded "cubs blow". Her guy friend, who was a SOX fan and had a sox cap, then nudged her to be quiet and just watch the game.
She never did turn around, but then began to cat call the Sox Bullpen!
She starts saying "hamhock" and "turkey leg" to the sox pitchers (what that
was supposed to mean, I dont know) I immediately went to chapter 1 of my "how-to-quiet-a-cub-fan" and asked her if she knew who was pitching for the cubs that nite. "I dont know, but they won (pointing
to scoreboard) woooooo oooooooooo. were more historic (I was gonna ask define historic, but was annoyed at that point) and we have a better field!
"You really believe that?" I said smirking. She was clueless and had no idea what I meant.

At this point, the 2nd gal brings the 2nd hooded cub fan into our section and she acknowledges him with "cuuuuuuu beeeeeeeeeeees!" He seemed mildly embarrassed and quietly sat down. They begin chatting across the aisle (mind you ......a few innings have gone by, and she not ONCE, set her stupid cub face to the field to watch the game!) the SOX fans in the section seemed more interested (and annoyed) by the action on the field
and ignored them.

In her defense, I didnt want to watch the game at that point too much
either seeing how inept our offense was that nite. The people near us
just shook their heads and I said "this is why I say these are the dumbest
fans in baseball". I was alarmed that this girl was pretty young, and probably hasnt been "fan" of the Blue Corporation for very long, I would say
the 1998 "historic wild card champions" at the earliest, and she is already
regurgitating what the Chicago Media has been feeding people.

Sox losing was brutal, but she made it worse.

I would consider her to be an old-timer if she's been a fan that long. My guess is she became a fan, oh, in about September, 2003.

I wonder if she was the one we saw in the Bullpen Bar, with the Cubs grey "away" jersey - she stood on the steps to the upper-level area outside the bar, and attracted the attention of the Tiger bullpen until they sent Kyle Farnsworth out to give her his autograph.

Last night in the Bullpen Sports Bar area outside, a pair of Cub fans showed up and sat at one of the tables. I was sitting in RF when they were there. Of course, some of our partisans started giving them a hard time. It was really good natured back-and-forth stuff when I was there. After I left to warm up on the concourse, I noticed from behind home plate about half a dozen security personnel escorting people out of the BSB. I think it was the Cub fans because they were not at their table. I bet things escalated and...

Hangar, these threads need to go. Seriously. Every time I come to this board, I see one of your "anti-Cubs" rants posted somewhere. It needs to end. I have been a member of this site for three-and-a-half years, and never have I had less fun on this board than I have over the past few weeks.

It's not just with Hangar, either. I'm sick of the "Frank Thomas is Still Hurt" threads, and all of the other crap that's been posted here recently. It's getting old.

:dtroll::dtroll::dtroll:

In defense of Hangar, and the countless fans who enjoy reading his rants, why did you even bother to open this thread if only to complain?

You would have thought the title, and author, was a great indication of what was to follow.

This particular board, "What's the Score?" was created for a reason. An individual place where fans can post threads not involved with the Sox, or other baseball teams in general. If Hangar were to post his rants every hour, on the hour, what's to stop him? Unless your complaining reaches the mods, and they create another sub of a sub board devoted to Hangars ranting.

I wish someday I could become as dissatisfied with a message board as much as you have been. Then, maybe I'll understand how much fun is taken out when people post on the Cubs and Frank Thomas threads.

Yeah, that was pretty sweet. I knew the guys that were going back and forth with the Cub fans. Nothing really happened. Nobody really seemed to threaten anybody, which is why it was so amusing that only the Cub fans got taken away.

Is there a "This post blows" tag?.....because I like the thread.

Yeah, I actually was mildly intrigued at where Hangar was going with the story. The ending was a bit anti-climatic....I was hoping he either knocked the dude out or took the chick home with him to convert her to the "silver and black pack", but, nevertheless, it was a good story.

Hangar, do you have a sign on your back that reads "Cub fans, come here and annoy me"? You seem to always run into Flub fans who are on their best behavior around you. I'm not being critical about you, I just feel for ya. I think if I spent a day in your shoes, I'd have shot one of the jerks long ago.

Anyway, I applaud you for not (yet) resorting to physical violence. Just ask 'em who is playing Second for them, they will shut up with the blank look as they try to figure out what "Second" means.......

I went with a bunch of people (Friday night) from the dorms. The 1 Cub fan that came with was just being really ignorant. He cheered for Rondell White every time because he played for the Cubs. He'd continually cheer for the Tigers throughout the game. Then I finally asked him, "why are you here?" He didn't say anything, so the game went on. Finally, he said our bullpen blows. :?:

Ok, then we asked him to name someone from their bullpen. He said Chad Fox, we said yeah but he just got injured. He couldn't name anybody else. Then he says their rotation is better. :?:

Then he says Wrigley Field is better. :?:

I was with 3 other hardcore fans, and we shut him up pretty quickly with facts and statistics (imagine that). He was basically just trying to get a rise out of us but man, I would never go to Wrigley and just start crap voluntarily. It's just toally ridiculous and uncalled for.

I got the standard "we draw better than the Sox" the other day at work. My reply was "39000 people in the house and 38000 of them still wondering when Sammy is going to bat". He pretty much agreed.

To each his own. I go to Wrigley and root for the opponents. I enjoy it, no matter how stupid it is.

I root for the opponent, of course. But I don't start stuff with the Cub fans around me. This guy was spitting out stuff to get us worked up. This wasn't a good natured baseball argument.

Have you ever heard the phrase "lincoln park trixey". Thats exactly what this girl is. She probably isn't even from chicago or hasn't been living in the city that long. She moved to lincoln park or wrigleyville a year or two ago and hopped on the whole cubbie propoganda machine and joined the local cubbie whoo hooo scene. She doesn't know any players on the team, follow the games, or know anything about baseball. She is the epidemy of our complaints about cubs fans. While we identify this I must also make certain that while there are a heck of a lot of these type of people since wrigleyville is pretty densly populated with these types its not all cubs fans. But then again these are the only ones who would come to a sox game just to get drunk and socialzie with other cubs fans. Something like this Hangar needs to be addressed in the media. Either from us or the sox PR dept. We need to point out whats going on and who these people are and how embarassing they are to real cubs fans and all chicagoans. Call the radio, write to a jounalists, tell Brooks!!!

:threadrules: No way ! Cub fans are the greatest fans in the world ! (Just ask them, they'll tell you !) The Cubs are better than the White Sox because Wrigley Field is awesome, there's more bars around the area, and everyone is cool.

That is a GREAT line. I love it.
