BOSTON --Red Sox ace Curt Schilling will miss at least two weeks because of a bruised right ankle, the latest misstep for the Boston rotation.


General manager Theo Epstein on Wednesday said Schilling had a "mild bone bruise" on the same ankle he had surgically repaired in the offseason. Epstein said this injury was higher and that team doctors believe the problems are "indirectly related."


"That general area has been through a lot," Epstein said.

I bet Theo wishes he still had Derek Lowe & Pedro.

Btw, between Frank's & Schill's two good ankles, I wonder if a 2005 version of the Babe could somehow be constructed.

A substantial portion of the proceeds from sales of the "Bobble Ankle" will go to charities including Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling's "Pitch for ALS" and his wife, Shonda Schilling's SHADE Foundation.
