Things look great. Now, you go north and get Ben Sheets. Trade Sweeny and or Anderson. Imagine this:

Sheets
Buehrle
Garland
Garcia
Duque

World Series?

The Brewers won't trade Ben Sheets....particularly for what you are offering. They just signed the guy for a big contract.

Ben Sheets, struggling a little. I'll kill someone if we lose Sweeney and Anderson right now. JC has been good so far, doesn't deserve 4 no decisions, he deserves at least 2 wins if not 4.

that will not ever happen

I would give up Anderson and Sweeney for Sheets in a heartbeat, but I doubt Milwaukee would be listening.

He just signed a 4 year deal at below market value with complete no-trade protection. The Brewers have new owners with more money to spend than Wendy Selig. Sheets isn't going anywhere any time soon.

I give it about a month before the Chicago talking heads, who love the Sox so, start making "suggestions" to help us win the WS: like trading a package of Garland, Marte, Sweeney and McCarthy for a reliable starter and proven winner like Kerry Wood.

It will be the 2005 version of Ordonez, MB and our best 2 farmhands for Sammy suggestion - just what the sox need to put them over the top.

Why? We don't need him. I like the rotation right where it is.

What is wrong with this rotation:

Buehrle 3-1, 2.61 in 4 starts
Garcia 2-1, 3.21 in 4 starts
Hernandez 2-1, 2.35 in 4 starts
Contreras 0-0, 3.48 in 4 starts
Garland 4-0, 1.80 in 4 starts

whereas;
Sheets 1-3, 3.95 in 4 starts.

In the NL no less. I love Sheets, but we are fine w/o. I'm pulling for JC all through this season.

Man this is coming from the kid who wants to see McCarthy.....forget Sheets. The Sox are dominating the way they are, Contreras' numbers don't reflect his performance, and I was a moron to suggest McCarthy! :redneck

Four starts? Small sample size.

how about his career as a sample size, which hasn't been mindblowing despite his 20 k game last year.

He's a great pitcher, but paying too much for him is a mistake
