"There's nothing wrong with him, he just has a little tendinitis," Cubs manager Dusty Baker to the Chicago Tribune.

:?:

I mean it's not like a pitcher has to do anything with that sore arm is there?

That's like saying 'there's nothing wrong with our kicker, he's just got a broken toe...'

I've seen this movie before. They show it all the time up there. There's something "minimal" wrong with a player, and then they disappear for a great while.

Who is this quote about?

Take your pick from the cubs pitching staff.

In all serioursness, Wood was pulled from the game in the 5th inning yesterday for soreness in his throwing shoulder. The quote was in reference to him.

Sounds like we need to consult our Cubs' diagnosis translator. Remember this one?

Did anyone see the USA today's baseball section a few weeks ago? It had a picture of Baker with the word "thinker" on it. You can't make stuff like that up.

This (http://www.intriguing.com/mp/_sounds/hg/wound.wav) seems appropriate for the Cubbies and their announcements about Wood.

I wish I could summon Robert Young from the dead.
Maybe his Marcus Welby alter ego could tell me what
"a little tendinitis" looks like.:D: :D:

It SOUNDS like a load of BS.

"Hey Kerry, I'll show you my hernia if you show me your tendonitis."

:D:

Seriously, isn't rest of the inflamed joint the only way to cure tendinitis? For the Cubs to think they can cure it by limiting his pitch count in one start and curb throwing in between starts is naive and desperate.
