I was listening to the game on the radio while the Cubs were on WGN (no cable at my girlfriends) and noticed that when they won today that they had a K in front of the W when they hoisted up the win flag.

How freaking pathetic is that??

It just reeks of the fact that the Cubs and the fans are more into stats than results.

Who cares who gets the win, as long as its a win?

Any win by Carrie this year is a rarity, so they're just doing what they can to squeeze more money out of the lemmings by (what I assume is) selling these flags.

Perhaps an ode to a possible American League GM of
the year candidate Kenny Williams??:roflmao: :roflmao:

Leave it to the Scrubs to use a cheap diversionary tactic to ensure they keep their place in the spotlight. It's obviously apparent that they're shaking in their boots in Wrigleyville over the White Sox stealing their thunder. It's just further proof that the Cubs and their fans are #1 when it comes to making something out of nothing.

Now, now, we should take it easy on the Cubs for doing this. This may be the last time they can indulge themselves and revel in a Carrie Woods victory because he left the game early today with tendinitis, and afterwards the Cubs said that they hope he won't miss any starts. We all know that in Cubsspeak that means we probably won't be seeing anything from him until June.

Cubs will push any ploy that will get them publicity.

ummmmmm...guilty of what? Selling memorbilia? Yes. Creating a new flag for a picher's win. C'mon...I might be able to see this for Roger Clemens, but Carrie Woods?

Roger doesn't need MLB to sell things he has his wife

I agree the KW thing is really bogus

Too bad the Cubs don't have Kenny Lofton then they could sell LOTS of KL flags

I actually have a neighbor that has one of those blue W flags and he actually hangs it outside of his house after every Cub win. Man, last fourth of July I thought that flag was going to end up where the sun don't shine, but I kept my cool.

The W flag has very little wear on it from the wind....oh yeah duh, it's rarely up there.

If we hadn't already realized it, it's just more proof on how cheesy and lame the Cubs and their fans are.

I'm thinking of making a black and white one for my dorm, cause I'm sick of looking across the way and seeing a handful of blue ones:angry:

One thing I've never understood about this whole stupid tradition: why raise a white flag when you win? Doesn't white indicate surrender? Then again, this is the Flubs we're talking about so maybe it makes perfect sense after all.

I've asked about that at several places and from what I gather, they're not "officially licensed" so they're not allowed to sell them at stores. Maybe those "entrepeneurs" that sell the "Cubs Suck" shirts (coincidentally the same guys that sell the "Sox Suck" shirts outside Wrigley) can help you out. Of course, it probably wouldn't be too hard to make one yourself.
