far more than most at WSI would have imagined a few short weeks ago ...

21 and the lone Sox pitcher in the All Star game because, as usual, Buerhle gets snubbed.

By the way, doesn't it rock that we're actually discussing this?

I'll put it this way, I think if he gets a W in his next start I'll give him 18 - 20. If he loses his next start 15 to 18. He has a lot of confidence right now as he is riding a 3 game win streak, If he keeps that confidence in his pitches I don't see why he can't reach 20. And, NO I'm not on drugs :D::D::D::D::D::D::D:

I'm sure this type of thread has been brought up for three or four years in a row. But in the past the answers have gone something like this:

"Probably about 12, give or take zero."

"We'd be lucky to get 10, or we'd be lucky for him to really suck in April and get released."

"Why are we even discussing this when we don't even have a 5th starter."

"18 of course!"

"I'd sell my soul and my first born to Satan if Jon Garland wins 18 games this year."

The fact that we neither have to sell our souls or put it in teal to suggest 18 is definitely a first this year.

More than Morning Wood.

That's old news, though. He was going to do that anyway.

Wood won't win double digits with that atrocious bullpen.

14. He started off hot a year or 2 ago and didn't finish that way.

I love his 3-0 start, and his slider has really improved. Nevertheless, I'm going to say he'll win 12-15 games this season. Obviously, that's not bad for a No. 5 starter, but I'm not going to leap to any conclusions and predict 20+ wins. There's so much time left in the season for a lot to happen.

No prediction but 20 is definitely a possibility out of the 5 spot, he "should" be matching up against other teams weak links. We've seen how well teams do behind their filler pitchers with the sox of the last few years. He may be getting wins by default in some of those games.

Twenty wins and a trip to the playoffs.

I'll go with 15. He has started out great but is destined to come back to earth. But overall, he'll have a very solid season.
